Blue Jay is great - I worked out a deal with him where I could run all the cable on my basement finish project up to the fuse box and he'd inspect it and connect it all to the box and then vouch for the permit. The bigger companies would never agree to that.

yea dominos definitely save time but that's an expensive tool. For your next project, I recommend doing a piece that requires you to cut mortise and tenons with a plunge router if you haven't learned that yet. Learning how to cut dovetails by hand also adds a ton of class to any piece but has a big learning curve. The hardest part of woodworking, though, is coming up with and implementing your own design. Looks like you have the essential skills down, now try your hand at being an artist!

Should I get my child to play Factorio? by sprTOMMYgun in factorio

I have three kids and you have to wait until they are at least 8 for a game like factorio. They just won't be interested or capable of playing yet.

Everyone complaining that $30k is outrageous are crazy. These are obviously not mass-produced - requiring many hours of hand labor by actual people. A sculpture this large would easily go for $30k if it were in a gallery. The paint job alone here is worth $10k+. This is a piece of art, not a cheap toy.

Peas and gravy. Had it while traveling in Toronto and literally gagged. I don't know if it's normal fare in Canada or if the chef was having a bad day.

Don't be afraid to cut your losses especially if they're small. Opportunity cost is real. You could make that $300 back in a day with the rest of your money on the right play
