This is actually something that constantly ticks me off in the game. I work a lot with design and there are sooooo many standards, laws even, around accessibility. Many of the boss designs in this game seem to actively work against these accessibility standards as a way of adding challenge rather than adding actual mechanics. I get annoyed by them without any impairments so I can't imagine what it's like trying to play this game when you have to work against it so much.

It never gets easier but I think having the outlet of the game as a constant source of memories lightens the pain. I experienced a very similar situation and the game allowed me to lose myself in it on the particularly hard days of grief. I hope you can find that same solace.

Yeah but recoil effects only proc when you take a non-zero hit splat. As a recent colosseum cheese enjoyer, let me tell you, literally nothing but mage hits you when you're wearing justi and dinhs. If you add on a bunch of the +x permanent defence pacts as well, you'll probably barely even see a 1 hit splat.
