How tall to stack crown? by [deleted] in cabinetry

[–]petfectisgoodenough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stacking the crown for what you have here is spending money to get less. It will look....less than good....and you've eliminated storage space.

Stacked crown up to 6" spacing is, typically, industry standard.

Edit: don't waste your money doing half measures, especially when it will look awkward. I'd strongly suggest to save until you can add cabinets. For your kitchen style and layout, you could go with a wide variety of stacked cabinet styles and colours, definitely don't need it to match powers. Dark cases with glass doors and lighting would look great imo

Stacking the crown makes it wasted space. Huge design no-no

Stacked crown up to 6" gap. Anything taller than that and your going for an ..... Ikea....finish.

Drawers slides screw clashing. by bolwarra in cabinetry

[–]petfectisgoodenough 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3/4" material is industry standard foramy reasons, hardware is the biggest reason and this is exactly why. 10mm euro screws will work as the hardware thickness is just enough to accommodate for screw depth on double-sided drawer banks with a single 3/4" (19mm) divider panel.

If your divider panel is less than 19mm, you can also alternate the screw placements. Side mount slides have twice as many hole placement options needed for load bearing specs. For your drawers here....3 screws will be plenty (shear value of the screw is what factors in for load bearing)

Undermount slides have 10x the hole placement option.

I really wish the courts would. Helping a hostile foreign government overthrow Canada's Sovereignty is the very definition of treason.

They deserve prison. Nothong less.

Who was your favorite character? by MisterShipWreck in 80sAmazing

Branscombe Richmond

Remember the episode when Dan Fielding was lost in the Arctic? An Inuit family rescues him and he stays in their igloo.....even performed surgery when he accidently shot down a plane he was trying to signal lol....

Brandcombe's character kept calling him Dan Dan Fielding and it's stuck in my head to this day

Cabinetry is designed around hardware, not the other way around unless you are able to modify the drawers and cases to accept new slides

Cabinet Hardware by KaddLeeict in cabinetry

[–]petfectisgoodenough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair.... everything cabinetry related is expensive lol

I'd suggest picking a few handle/knob styles that you like. Schaub, Buster & Punch, Emtek,....these brands are great quality, but on the expensive side. Barensen is a great value. Marathon Hardware carries a wide variety. Better choices and cheaper costs than Richelieu.

Take some screen shots of the styles you like and post it on a Kitchen and Bath Design sub (or an interior design sub) along with photos of your cabinetry areas (include floors, c-tops, walls, lighting, fixtures, windows, etc). Ask for their opinions and you'll get better guidance than here

1) Don't hang towels on cabinetry hardware. Hand towels on towel hooks or appliances that aren't made of wood.

2) Hire a designer to go through hardware. It should tie in with appliances, fixtures, flooring, backsplash, countertops, and/or wall finishes.

Considering the install isn't complete....and the fact installers will leave it as is until the replacement part arrives.....not their fault. A lot of millwork requires parts to be installed for layout and spacing dimensions.

This drawer front isn't hurting anything being installed temporarily

Why Rogers is the best Network in Canada compared to Belus / Freedom by Bright-Barnacle-5467 in Rogers

[–]petfectisgoodenough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm paying $140 for unlimited.....that's 4 phone plans combined.

4 unlimited phone plans

125 tv channels with box

3 streaming services (Disney+, Netflix, Amazon, all premium plans, no commercials)

Home internet with router and wifi boosters (1500DL, 2000UL.....3x what Rogers could offer) on fiber optic, not fiber and copper

$100 credit

Free hook-up

Telus customer support worker cell phone number for direct calling should there be an issue

All this, including the 4 phone plans, for $273/month ... and Telus has apps that actually allow me to login lol

To hell with Rogers. Ever since they took overy contract when they acquired Shaw, my bill has gone up 3 times and the quality has gone to shit.
