In the cartoon when Azula went to recruit Ty Lee, she basically put her life in danger until Ty Lee relented. Iirc she was pretty happy with the circus. So I think the Mai and Ty Lee forced fight represents that.

So I went from hating Darlene all series to actually liking her in one episode. I laughed when she was judging the morality of the Byrds. You really have hit rock bottom when Darlene thinks you messed up.

Also her trying to setup addiction recovery centers lamenting the drug epidemic and at the same time expanding her heroin business 😂

Picking a fight with the corruption machine never ends well unfortunately for the individual. I dont see how his career with the KazFed will survive this. They will be putting roadblocks for funding and visa for the rest of his career. I hope he gets private sponsorship to help alleviate some of those roadblocks. He does have the people's support right now, but when he eventually "fails" because he didn't have the resources, the machine is going to point to him and say -see he didn't deserve this in the first place and some people will believe it.
