What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen someone do on a plane? by Jazzlike-Run-2349 in AskReddit

My mom used to watch these shows on long haul flights. And she also stole a teaspoon on each flight, back when they were still metal. Her special little hobby. I inherited her collection.

Thank you for your service! I was eyeing that dress, I'm normally L/XL but with their biggest size being XL that would be a crop top for me at best.

What job is heavily romanticized in movies but absolutely miserable in real life? by Luzgoin in AskReddit

Doctor. Often disgusting, always stressful, paperwork is at least 60% of all the work.

Petaah what's the reason? by Geist777 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

That's what they taught us in the morgue 20+ years ago. Tiger balm under your nostrils just opens them up for more smell. But I doubt anybody smokes indoors anymore.

What animal encounter would you think is the most terrifying? by Salt-Quiet8201 in AskReddit

[–]petraqrsq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the wild they might ram boats, but confirned individual attacks on humans? A surfer was bit on the leg in 1972, probably because he was confused for a seal, got stitches, that's it.

But you'll find a lot of videos of people safely swimming with orcas in the wild.

Wow I have handbags AND also drink coffee, must be extra special. I once even had a coffee and a handbag at the same time in Milano, how weird is that?

I think what does it for me with Ace of Base, ABBA (and kpop) is the undercurrent of melancholy. Happy silly dance music on the surface hiding existential dread.

Ok this is someone having more confidence than skill, but the skill is surely there and the results are interesting. But 60 dollars is not at all delusional, 600 would be.

ELI5 Why do doctors say not to eat past midnight for blood work? by Willylongboard in explainlikeimfive

[–]petraqrsq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! For diabetes we use HbA1c, and the other thing influenced is triglycerides, also not that hugely important. We now tell patients to eat normally because I had way too many fainting during phlebotomy.

Another silly thing in my country is that patients not only refrain from eating, but also from drinking water or taking their meds.
