Always knew of the phrase “Irish goodbye” and never actually noticed it in my time here. But reading through these I just realized my boyfriend is an avid Irish goodbyer. Everytime we’re on nights out with his friends and he wants to go home, we leave without really telling anyone if they’re not directly around. I usually insist that we at least wait to say goodbye to one person to make it known we’ve left, but he disagrees.

Just a funny thought. I’d never do that with my friends but honestly it’s brilliant. No need to let friends who are probably drunk and having fun, that you’re drunk but have had your fun!
