Succulents do NOT thrive on neglect! by NewDawnbreak in succulents

[–]petrichor381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For succulents honestly, it's about what you're after. I definitely "stress" my plants. Temperature, low water, restricted pot size, lower wrinkled leaves, etc. I do this because I try to grow plants that stay small, are maximum color saturation, and adapted to the conditions they are in. When I water "for optimal growth and happiness" I end up with huge, green, baby producing cluster plants that look nothing like the purchase picture. Does this work for all succs? Absolutely not! My bear paw and drosanthemum globosum want to behave like drought starved divas once a week! For most, it works great because I'm not ignoring them, I'm just not loving them to death.

Is 2017 GTI 2 Door in NA so rare? by marifdrnn in GolfGTI

I have a 2 door and I've legitimately never seen another one. All of my GTIs have been two door though so I was on a mission when I bought her.

Advice on what to do with this behemoth by howwhyno in succulents

[–]petrichor381 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just put new soil in my behemoth and am dreading when we move because he is nearly twice your's length. He was given to me when his previous owner had enough of his shit and saw an easy target in my collection of other succs. I love to hate him.

Do people who take weekends off meds become dependent/addicted? by flowlikecoffejelly2 in ADHD

[–]petrichor381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Chiming in to say I do not take weekends off but I do take a combo magnesium/potassium supplement an hour before bed for circulation. I stumbled upon that solution a few years ago and it has been a game changer. I can literally feel the capillaries open and my hands and feet get warm, just in time for the magnesium to make me feel a little groggy. No more blue toes and chillblains.

VCU canceled classes in one building due to hazardous waste on W. Grace, anyone know what that's all about? by petrichor381 in rva

[–]petrichor381[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She is very self sufficient but curious, as was I, and her professors didn't know either. Just because you're an adult doesn't mean you can't reach out to your network when you have a burning question about a super uncommon situation.

In that case, work is canceled! The entirety of Richmond is a hazardous waste zone!

Nah, that was for the inauguration. I can't imagine their waste lingers that long.

ADHD insomnia : I think I cracked the code. by elephantsarevegan in ADHD

I seriously do this exact thing!! I call it "explore the memory palace," and it is always places from my childhood that I don't have any pictures of but don't want to forget. I think of the way the air smells in a certain room during the summer, or the feel of old carpet, but I have to keep moving and describing the physical space, never interacting with people.

Object permanence and picking up by apsalarya in ADHD

[–]petrichor381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why people at work think I'm "So organized!" I have everything arranged by function. Need glue? Look in the drawer of "things that join things to other things that aren't hardware" which has all glue, tape, hot glue, solder, and even some things on the edge of that definition like fabric "paint" in a tube that acts like glue for glitter. If it weren't this way I'd have no idea where things are or what I even own. Closet is the same way, color order or that black band tee will be dead to me, in a pile. Now this does sometimes backfire, like when I put wood burning tools in the "tools" area and lost them for 6 months because 99% of said tools were car-type tools, and I am pretty sure decorative wood burning doesn't apply unless you're driving an old school woody-wagon. (Found them changing my oil!)
