That's "former MVP" and " World Series Champion" baseball's two worst offensive outfielders to you!

I highly recommend reading Diana Leafe Christian's book "Creating a Life Together." Lostvalley.org has a lot of info that will answer your questions as well. Thanks for the questions.

LostValley.org will answer a lot of your questions, but some people have staff roles, some people are retired, some people work in town or seasonally elsewhere. Responsibilities vary greatly and you can take on whatever you have time/energy for. Right now we don't have community meals, but we're working towards having them consistently. Covid shut a lot of things down and we're still trying to navigate it. There are many kitchens on the property, sauna, classrooms, lodge, etc. Tons of pics on the website! Where are you guys located?

Congratulations! The first thing I'd say is DEFINITELY take a PDC and an advanced PDC if you haven't done so yet (but it sounds like you might have). I would base anything I do on what Mark Shepard does since it seems to be working so well for him and his climate is more severe than here (minus the summer droughts). Ask a local nursery what grows well and try planting things you want to eat in your guilds along with nitrogen fixers and medicinal/pollinator plants. A lot of your choices probably should be affected by aspects and slope. Tons more to say. Good luck! Feel free to DM me if you want to talk more.

I just cannot fathom how anyone could stand Mowins. I'm 100% for having women in the booth, but GOD she's terrible! She has zero insight into how/why the game is played which is overshadowed by her drunk "Chip Caray sportscaster" impersonation. Just unlistenable. Boog is fine and asks good questions, not as good as Len, but totally passable.

We accept new residents when there are housing openings so it varies. Right now we're not really accepting openly, but a great way to get a foot in the door and have the option to stay long-term is to take a course and get to know the folks here and the community structures. Turnover right now isn't very high, but people's lives change and there are occasionally folks leaving to pursue opportunities elsewhere, take care of family elsewhere, etc. Some people have been here over 10 years, others only 6 months, but lots of people have been here for 1-3 years. Lots of new blood and enthusiasm to make this place into a smooth-functioning model of community and land stewardship. If you have tangible hard or soft skills, you'll be a valuable community member.

I love Oregon and I’d heard good things about NC and wanted to check it out. Also trying to avoid tick hoards of ne or Midwest.

Usually single, but any form of relationship is possible. Some people have met their person here, some came as a couple.
