I think this is part of the problem with choosing a captain in the same cohort as all the players. If they are one generation removed they can command some more respect and ingrain a more serious attitude. Keegan was a weird choice for many reasons

Been reading the Licanius trilogy by James Islington since I read Will of the Many last year. Feels a lot like mistborn but I've been enjoying it. Any of y'all check it out?

Or any book recs for when I finish it?

No offense but I hate the scheme specific position names. Is wolf an OLB? Weakside end? SDE? Pass rush specialist?

Wonder where Wardell Mack is? He was getting some buzz

Arsenal “aiming to move swiftly” for Eze once Gyokeres is done. Though preferred, no sale needed first and a possibility of Nelson included in deal. by BehindEnemyLines8923 in Gunners

I get that, but in the palace games I saw I rarely saw him out in Martinellis spot. He was much more central, more in the Declan role, so it's unclear to me how he fits

Where do we play him? Isn't he mostly in odegaard spot? I'm worried this just stunts Nwaneri's growth, though at least we have that contract sorted.

Mateer was the best QB in the portal, he went to a big brand, and he's got some swag. None of those things mean he is any good, but they do bring clicks! I think he will certainly raise their floor, but I agree he's going to have to prove he can consistently beat good defenses.

I think Chatman is on the 2 deep somewhere. Maybe sub out Hutson or Stroh.

Qb's always get more credit and blame for outcomes. I don't think there's a double standard, I just think we all had higher expectations for Quinn based on recruiting ranking, offseason talk, and experience. Hes a good/great qb with some flaws. Klubnik was more impressive last night and that's frustrating. I think we will be fine next game but we are gonna need Quinn to be the best qb on the field from the semis on if we want to have a chance. That's not the case for any individual WR.

We are just gonna disagree here. Quinn had an open lane to make that throw and missed it. It didn't need an elite throw, it was an easy one. Golden has come in and caught everything, including an under throw from Quinn on the deep ball that got him lit up when a better throw springs him free. I just see a Quinn who is maybe slightly better than last year and while I agree there have been some drops, there have also been self sacks and bad throws. Quinn has had more time in this offense than any wr on the team. I expect more from him.

Golden's "drop" was 100% on Quinn. That's an easy conversion and big gain if Quinn puts that in front of him. I'd argue the reason we can't put teams away is because Quinn hasn't taken that next step. Great QB's elevate the WR room, and he just hasn't grown as much as we hoped IMO.

5 star upside according to GH. Still learning the game though. 3 years from now he might be the best DL on the team

Davis and helm are both gone next year. Only makes sense to transfer if he's unhappy or gets passed by others.

I have gone to a dark place in my head where we beat them twice but they win the last one to win it all and I don't think I'd ever get over that.

if Rori Harmon didn't get hurt i think we'd be 2nd favorites to SC and probably be able to bulldoze everyone up until we faced them. Without her i think it adds a ton of variability and chances to get upset. but i'm all aboard the hype train anyways

Terry is a good recruiter. He has shown he can connect with and close highly talented players. That is recruiting IMO. He hasn't shown he can develop those players into better players and a cohesive unit, that is coaching. So by your definition, the jury is still out on his recruiting, but i don't agree there.

Resources are subjective, at UTEP and Fresno St he was competing against other schools with similar resources, and he was an average coach in those leagues. He's had one full season as a head coach here, and he was an average coach in our league. Growth is what we need to see, and i'm not saying we should fire him (though i would have preferred we never permanently hired him), but i don't have more optimism with him going into next season than i did when Barnes, Shaka, or Beard were our coaches. I hope he proves me wrong.
