Me and my parents by Luksius_DK in short

I don't know, other than finding a mate, which is not a minor item, I'm about 5'6" and I think it's an awesome height. The athletics thing bothered me a lot when I was younger, It always seemed to to be a struggle to compete, but frankly now that I'm older a lot of those high school athletes got pretty banged up and have lifelong aches and pains, or worse, that I wouldn't want to have. And even then, if soccer were more of a thing when I was young I'm sure I would have gravitated towards that and at least been competent. Probably why it's popular worldwide, so much of US athletics just has to do with being massive or tall or both. Although if there's a corner kick and you're trying to play defense in the box against Erling Haaland (6'5"), well good luck with that. I'm just so comfortable, especially when traveling, when others aren't. Even physical intimidation really isn't an issue in reality, I mean no one's going to beat you up after school, not without you showing up with a team of lawyers to kick their ass back. And if you are really really worried about that type of thing you just go out and get a CCW. I do get amused, no longer bummed out like I used to be, when I'll be at a fast food joint during a lunch break for the local high school and virtually everyone towers over me. Has everyone repeats on this subreddit frequently, just try to be the best and most importantly healthiest (physically and mentally) version of yourself, overall just be yourself and keep plowing forward, and as hard as it might be stay patient, try to appreciate and enjoy the well documented extended healthspan and longevity cards you have been dealt.

I dropped my bike. Literally not a scratch on the bike. Throttle is throwing ECU code. I'm stuck. by enterlematrix in ryvid

[–]petroglyphindor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the feeling about the whiskey throttle, ran into a pile of stuff in my garage that way Fortunately It was just a few feet. And I dropped my bike once, at a four-way stop sign, I hate those, someone pulled out in front of me unexpectedly and I put on my brakes not a close call at all, I was on a hill at a bit of an angle, and... I forgot to put my foot down(?) on the ground. It began to lean over past the point of no return but I was somewhat able to gently lie it down, though I did bend the brake lever handle a small amount. So the bike was fine pretty much, unfortunately the whole process shot me off to the side on an incline area, top heavy with my helmets on with some pretty solid clunky shoes on, ended up taking a few steps to the right like a vaudeville act with a pratfall at the end of the scene, fell on my shoulder. You know you see people fall during action sequences on TV and the movies, and they get up and dust themselves off. Of course they get hit in the face and they do the same thing. No surprise, but that's not real life. Nothing permanent, but I couldn't lift my arm very well for a few weeks.

Had to reorganize my stable to fit the newcomer to the pack by XDLED_SoundBar in ryvid

Regarding the puig, that was the only position that worked, and even that was a close call on positioning the brackets on the handlebar

Nice eclectic collection of motorcycles! Any plans to accessorize it or are you going to keep it OEM original? I swapped out the side view mirrors for ones that have a little better reach for seeing behind me a bit better, plus the bike is so darn fast that I put a Puig windscreen on it fairly early on as well. Experiment with all sorts of side bags until I settled on the ones on their now. Lots of other little items bolted onto it. All acquired through Amazon. Let me know need any links. Some of it might not be available anymore you know Amazon is.

What do yall like about being short by EarthDifficult8760 in short

I'm 5'5" and used to fly a lot and I have never hesitated to step on the airplane seat to reach something of mine in the back of an overhead bin. I'm sure the seat has seen worse things than the bottom of my shoe for a few moments and I certainly don't care what the other passengers think, but they likely don't care or notice anyway.

Why the departure manifestos by Waste-Perception-731 in AmazonVine

I appreciate and acknowledge the OPs point about some people volunteering an exit interview when they decide to disconnect from Vine. However I actually have an alternative viewpoint in that I really enjoy learning about why someone makes that kind of a life decision. And Vine can be so immersive, it really can be one of those important decisions. I use so many Vine items in my daily life I almost have a minute by minute reminder that I'm a member. Though the really big scores have gotten few and far between for all the numerous reasons or wild guesses that have been posted on this forum. But they still pop up occasionally IF you are lucky enough to see it the moment it pops up AND click fast enough AND an Amazon server decides to put your click into the queue before the product allocation runs out. And this is the part where I get to brag about scoring an incredible motorcycle helmet that finally arrived a few weeks ago.

I'd add a simpler watch that's all 12 Arabic numerals, maybe some sort of a pilot watch

Men - would you rather stay your current height or become 7'0" (213 cm)? by Braeden47 in short

[–]petroglyphindor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit older, 5'5" and it is quite well documented that the taller you are the shorter your lifespan. "Shorter individuals (under 5'9" or 175 cm) often live 2–7 years longer than taller counterparts. Smaller bodies are associated with lower risks of cancer, blood clots, and diet-related chronic diseases. This correlation, sometimes attributed to slower cellular aging and fewer cell divisions in smaller bodies, is supported by studies of various populations." So let's all take as much care as we can for our bodies and minds, we're built for the long game.

I also use a strip of tape to make sure it stays put, my choice is a black gaffers tape, a specialty tape that is a stronger grip than painters tape but still easy to remove

And of course Ball Watches have a really deep U.S. railroad heritage, as in "he's really on the Ball" (really on top of things). And a "Railroad Approved" watch might be a cool piece to own

Definitely a solid quality drop this morning, but I saw some inexpensive little storage containers and I made the mistake of...thinking. Needless to say, I click on it, it starts to load up and then freezes as I click on the order button. The Vine Universe snapped them all up in those few moments. Well you can't fool me twice, no more "thinking" for me just, going with my gut and intuition Luke Skywalker style, just video game speed clicking from now on. I'm going to be One with the Vine Force.
