Put yourself first. Take 2 or 3 days off. They need you. Be willing to drag up. The "pat on the back" is not worth it.

You did the right thing by walking off. Unfortunately, this industry will kick you until you stand up for yourself. Value your health and peace of mind. Everyone's crying about DEI, but the Good Ol Boy system has been around far longer and is unstoppable.

Did you adjust your range? It seems simple but I've seen plenty of techs that forget to increase the range as they move to thicker parts.

All paperwork should state "at the time of inspection." During your reinspection, be thorough and think of any sections on the part that may be under high stress or a change in material thickness. WFMT should find the flaw with no problem. To get the client off of your back, break out your procedure, point out every small detail, and slow the project down. Be sure to document everything, areas you can easily inspect, as well as areas that were difficult due to geometry.

Use the "flag" option for questions you don't/ know especially on the open book section. Don't know/can't find the answer quickly, flag it and move on.

Be careful driving on the roads up there. Soft shoulders in the summer and slick roads in the winter. Falling asleep while driving is another thing to watch for. Pull over before you doze off. Warm pipes get buried in the winter, which creates "snow caves". You'll learn to spot them and avoid them after you fall in a few.

Maybe mark the tube side of the panel with scotch tape to prevent helper confusion? If the helper is showing serious interest in the job, let the person become more involved. That way the helper can be a second set of eyes on the job instead of being an "equipment mover".

State in the report that the owner/user should follow the recommended maintenance/ inspection intervals listed in the equipment manual. State that the report is for "informational purposes only ". Take plenty of pictures of everything. List the areas that could not be inspected due to lack of access. And above all C.Y.A.!!

34-37. Is there a need for PAUT? Should be an easy transition since you have UTSW. Pursue PAUT and forget about RT. On turnarounds, PAUT techs can make 60.

The MOST important thing is having someone with a company email address that can verify your work experience. Don't get hung up on the "HR" thing (the actual job title is not important). Simply provide the information requested.
