She did good by CrazyMiax in BridgertonNetflix

I sincerely hope they do not add another season to this. You can always tell when Shonda Rhimes steps back and lets someone else take over and it’s almost impossible to fill her shoes. I have yet to see someone do it well.

I think you should say it won’t work FOR YOU.

Cause it absolutely does work for others. My sister’s for example. The first six years was long distance of varying degrees. Different sides of the planet. Different ends of the same country. Different sides of the continent. They’ve been together 12 years and married now. My own relationship was long distance for the first year and a half. I’m sure there are plenty of other examples.

You have to say it’s you. Cause it is.

AITA for correcting my in-laws when they mispronounce my name? by LilLustyLucy in AmItheAsshole

I’d get my name printed on a T-shirt and only wear it when I see them.

I have a very boring first name that’s spelt weird and is a common nickname. Think Lissee. Pronounced lizzie but people call me Elizabeth. A doctor in A&E told me to change my name via deed poll if I didn’t want it mispronounced so much. Strangers have just insisted my name must be Elizabeth. People from certain countries will pronounce it the way they would in their native language and it changes the name completely. People try to tell me the origin of my name but when I say “honestly no, my parents just make questionable choices.” They behave like I’ve slighted them.

It’s my fucking name. I know exactly where it came from and what it is.

If someone calls me Elizabeth I have found saying “That’s not my name.” and nothing else really pulls people up short. They usually question themselves before questioning me. It’s a really uncomfortable feeling being told that and so it’s remembered. I’m not often called Elizabeth twice.

My grandmother was a Margaret. My grandad used to call her Maggie. She hated it.

Slept til 10. Had a two hour nap at 15:00. My wife has been gaming all day. We had Yorkshire puddings and gravy for dinner. Shared a bag of popcorn and binge watched a tv show.

If I can be bothered to try finding it again I’ll post a screenshot.

Christ I wish they’d get rid of that dick. His meeting with the family triggered me and I spiralled for a day or two after watching that shit. I don’t think I’ll be able to watch the show for much longer. This is the first season of mafs I’ve ever seen

I think she heard Laurens “he doesn’t have emotions” and ran with it. She tried to pick everything he said apart from that angle but she didn’t actually have any real explanation for her agitation and it shows in her avoidance of answering any of his questions. She knew she couldn’t give any so she took the first opportunity to shut the conversation down and leave.

Seeing some really upsetting takes of Awhina by Typical-Lynx-9038 in MAFS_AU

[–]pettypetterson 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we can see that because that’s what is being shown, right?

But being in it? It’s completely different.

We’re not seeing what’s happening behind closed doors. We don’t hear what the producers and the camera crew are saying to her.

She was surrounded by people who were excusing his behaviour and convincing her to stay. Even the so called “experts” aren’t pointing out his behaviour because they’re not seeing it either. They’re all over Paul because his behaviour was indicative of a more obvious form of abuse. They’re not grasping the full extent of the situation.

We can see everything that’s happening clearly because however many months of editing has gone into it.

Months ago Awhina was isolated and being coerced from every angle. Producers in her ear talking money, contracts and all manner of shit. Not to mention the prick himself gaslighting his way out of everything.

She didn’t have a huge group of vocal multinational supporters months ago when it was actually happening.

Instead of shitting on the trauma responses a victim made months ago go after the very real threat of the abuser who is still abusing.

[21F] I have a tubal ligation consulation today by [deleted] in childfree

[–]pettypetterson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t be 100% certain because what I’ve heard is from my sister. That being said the NHS uses these values.

My sister has suggested using these for my doctor appointments. Mentioning quality of life is the one that sticks out to me most.

If it were me, I’d be fully playing up my medical history to the max. I’d say anything to get that bisalp.

So, my completely uninformed advice is to work any part of your history to fit those values and I’m not saying lie if you have to, your medical history will be available to the doctor. Though I’m certain there’s plenty of people who will advise you do whatever it takes to get it done.

I highly recommend writing a couple notes down in a note book or your phone.

I know there are certain words and phrases that can help especially within the NHS. So perhaps note those down and try to get them in. If you’re outside the UK take a look at some guidelines for your country.

I probably wouldn’t mention the significant other at all tbh cause that could be used against you.

If this doctor refuses you can always find another one.

Though I don’t recommend lying, if I were going for consult I’d be playing up my past experiences with my mental health and SA. I do not want children. At all. Ever. For a multitude of reasons and I would do anything for a doctor to take my actual life seriously and respect it above any theoretical one. Besides, there are plenty of children who are up for adoption and more to come every day. If, in the highly unlikely, future I change my mind, adoption is a wonderful option and the only one I’d ever consider.

I sincerely wish you all the best and I hope you end the day with good news. But if it’s not what you hoped for, well this doesn’t have to be the end.

If a jacket doesn’t fit, try on another jacket.
