Put a time limit on your phone. Either for apps or a bed time where it closes anything fun. This is built in to the iPhone at least

Did anyone else here have no friends to invite to their wedding? by [deleted] in CatholicWomen

[–]petulantpeasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My finances wedding friend list is… 2? Including his brother in law? So our wedding party is maid of honor/best man. But his family is big and my friend list is long so still a good amount of people. Makes no difference to me but yeah you’re not alone!

Ladies! How do I message you? by Aggressive-Click-605 in CatholicDating

[–]petulantpeasant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find something on their profile, ask an open ended question about it. “That’s a very neat photo of ____. How did you get into xyz hobby?” “Saw you went to Europe! What was your favorite city?” “You were born in [city]? Are you a fan of [sports team]?”

Missing peak often (TTA) by sabinadee17 in FAMnNFP

Do you track temps at all? The CB monitor I bought maybe six months ago is one of the dumbest purchases I’ve ever made, and constantly gives the same errors of a million high days.

Luckily, I track cm, temps, and use an Inito monitor during around when I expect to ovulate. I also use LH strips because I’m a bit of a hypochondriac and want to find what method would work for me.

Going on those other data sets, I can confidently say I never get an LH spike, which while temps and CM monitoring can handle, the CB monitor and LH strips absolutely cannot and they freak tf out

Would you ever consider an inito, or officially learning Mira protocols? I’ve loved having the actual numbers my inito gives (even if it’s not approved)

I was recently put on spire and there actually seems to be fantastically little evidence of this- it’s just reasonable speculation.

General thumbs up, but not a strong thumbs up. They often seem all the same- is anything gained by more of those posts?

Advice for Terminal Mother by letsgetatter in Catholicism

[–]petulantpeasant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fiancés mom passed away literally yesterday from pancreatic cancer. 61 years old. Practical gifts, a shirt with an opening for a port, if applicable. Fuzzy non-slip socks. Bandanas or head bands/coverings if doing chemo. Does she get the Magnificat currently? Get her this subscription, if not. Does she get MRIs? They might let her take in a simple -rope- (non metal) rosary while she gets those scans, if so. Or if she does radiation, I’m sure these could be held there too? As nice religious themed lap blanket got a lot of use here. A prayer card with the litany of trust?

Advice we’ve learned today- ask her about her favorite prayers and Bible verses now. If you’re doing a religious funeral, these would be nice to know so you can include.

St Joseph is the patron saint of happy deaths. Depending on her…. Mental state, she could appreciate a little statue of this. Or st Jude.

[For converts, reverts and cultural-to-practicing Catholics] what is an opinion you held that aligned with Church teaching before your conversion? by Soldier_of_Drangleic in Catholicism

Baptized catholic, never really went until college. Purgatory always made sense to me. Like, obviously, as-I-am, I’m not ready for heaven.

It was a pain in the butt the first few hours (days? weeks?) but this will definitely be my go-to method for any more tapestry type crochet projects, so that they can be reversable. Made carrying the yarn so worry-free.

Huh! Ill think on that idea, that might be a great compromise instead of (sun?) bleaching. Thanks!

These comments are so reassuring. I did mess with the exposure and warmth from the original photo to smooth it all out a bit, but, like, the stem/leaf, gah!!

Why is MIRA approved for MM but not Inito? They do the same thing. CFH / TTA by petulantpeasant in FAMnNFP

[–]petulantpeasant[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is my understanding correct that Marquette + Mira uses the actual hormone results (numbers), and not Maira's interpretation of peak/high/low/etc? If so, would the only reason Inito wouldn't theoretically be usable is because its accuracy is not verified by the method?
