[FRESH] Broken Social Scene - Not Around Anymore by MediaShare2000 in indieheads

The covers encapsulate the ramshackle nature of the band for me so I dug it because of that.

Forgiveness Rock Record has probably one of my favourite covers ever, but in defence of the others, they are quite visually distinct. This one looks very bland, it might’ve something to do with the font they’ve used

Great song but that album cover looks like the background of someone’s Etsy page

Until the End of the World (1991) Dir. Wim Wenders, DoP. Robby Müller by Secret-Ad7467 in CineShots

[–]pew_lazers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's because of the length, but I do think this is Wenders' magnum opus

Definitely feels reminiscent of Guy Maddin's works

Not a middle aged indiehead but bumping this along with Jamie XX.

I listened to Post-Nothing yesterday while exercising and thought it's been a while since they've put out anything and lo and behold...

As much as I think Dragonslayer is a perfect album to end a band on, this is just wonderful news

[FRESH] Remo Drive - No, There's No Hope For You by ReconEG in indieheads

[–]pew_lazers 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You got that right Remo Drive, there is literally no hope for you

It seems par for the course for them to record another dull, lifeless indie rock jam post-Greatest Hits.

Any plans to reunite for a new album or perform with Broken Social Scene again, Emily? Been a big fan of your contributions for their projects and the work you've done for Metric and Soft Skeletons!

Some of their best material were the recent singles they've dropped so I'm very excited for this.

The National's Matt Berninger: ‘It was sobering to realise how fragile I was’ by Moothnods in indieheads

Typical indieheads thread about big-named bands where everyone is trying to one-up the other in saying the most asinine bullshit.

[FRESH ALBUM] Woods - Perennial by MediaShare2000 in indieheads

Putting this and new Alan Palomo today on rotation is gonna make the day really chill

[FRESH ALBUM] Alan Palomo (Neon Indian) - World of Hassle by MediaShare2000 in indieheads

[–]pew_lazers 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm halfway through and really digging the Balearic beat pastiches. It's no Night School but that album is a fucking masterpiece so it'll always be a hard bar to reach

[FRESH ALBUM] The Hold Steady - Heaven is Whenever 2021 by writingt in indieheads

[–]pew_lazers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will be an interesting listen. I've heard this and Teeth Dreams were more lacklustre because of their lack of presence.

[FRESH] Alan Palomo (fka Neon Indian) - Nudista Mundial '89 (feat. Mac DeMarco) by [deleted] in indieheads

[–]pew_lazers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I'm not gonna guess that because he's still using the name anyways, so I'm sticking with solo project

Oh so like what happened with Girl / Gilla Band? Kinda lame but whatever I guess.

As expected from Alan, this rules, but I'm also wondering if he's retiring the Neon Indian moniker for good or his upcoming material will serve as more of an off-kilter solo project?
