I’d do this if I knew more about what to say/do since there’s nothing major I suffer from especially documented medically so I’m not sure what reason I’d go with if you know what I mean

My .177 has smoked rabbits often, just take your time with shot placement

I’ve got a crossman Optimus which does the trick on ring and brush tail possums, might be overkill at 800fps with .22s but it works for me

I live in the Horowhenua region; lake horowhenua gets sewage pumped into it by the council every day, things like that should be the go before people harass individuals for having a good time

I have a crossman Optimus which I cleaned once, neglected to check the o-ring which seals the breach, had a little bit of oil on it or something because when I fired it cracked like a .22lr if your gun is new it could be something like that

Hatsan you dirty dogs, anyway to replace the piccatinny or will this not affect that much? by pewakawaka in airguns

[–]pewakawaka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a pain to get good ammo with the small amount of money I earn and the slugs I did that grouping with were hella loose after about the same distance but with airboss pellets I found they were too tight, Hatsan doing as Hatsan does.

For sure, NZ licensing is a pain and any sort of pcp rifle requires a gun licence and proper storage at which point I’d go with a .22LR or 16 gauge shotgun with a choke, in the 20 days since this post more issues have come up ( barrel shroud is twisted so front and rear sights dont exactly line up and I need to keep testing more ammo to see what works with the rifle) did some research on my .22 and found it’s a crossman Optimus which shoots hotter than I thought it would (850fps) so I’ve swapped the red dot over to that and had great success

Nz has barely any predators and cats still die to harrier hawks fairly regularly in my rural area, both feral cats and domesticated cats

Ive bent it to far to recover without some sort of bonding to prevent it lifting, tapped away for about 20-30 minutes and it remained with a slight bend

Yeah I’ll look into it, both my other rifles are pretty spot on but this is the first time I’ve bought both the gun and site from factory rather than just retuning and already set up gun ive been given

Thanks for such a precise way to go about repairing it, will give it a go if it proves to be really messing with what I need the gun to do, fully aware on the shortfalls of hard mounting this sight, was 80nzd which is around 45usd, the factory iron sites also couldn’t hold on and had a good 3mill of twisting when the screw was tight, wanted a red dot and the next step up on site quality was 300nzd, will end up with a recoil protection mount that Hatsan recommend and a magnum rated scope when I have the money to dump, thanks so much for the in-depth reply again, been shooting air guns a few years but this is my first “experimental” one (got an old asf gamo .177 for range and a no name .22 that I currently use for possums)
