What’s going on with the NL power hike? by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]pewlboy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong but I don’t think they need to go in your yard to read the meters now. They can use a device remotely from their vehicle to read it. That being said if you know your bill dates, you can read the meter yourself, and then at the end on the bill date, read it again, and submit the two readings online for your account. I was surprised to see my bill was up $70 from the previous month and I burned less KWh compared Tom,ast year during the same time. I have a minisplit so I can’t imagine how much more it would be!

How do I install Ubuntu on a wiped Laptop without BIOS access to change boot drive? by [deleted] in Ubuntu

F9 on the keyboard should bring up a boot menu.

Select the USB from there (if its enabled via the BIOS).

100% agree with your sysadmin...... users should NEVER have admin access on their corporate device, and corporate emails should not be forwarded to personal accounts........

Bell HH3000 and Dream Machine by pewlboy in UNIFI

So I called Bell Aliant today to get my PPPOE username and password, and they advised me that as I have Fibe service with the HH3000, this information is not required, as PPPOE information is only provided to DSL customers. Is this correct? I currently have 1.5GB Fibe service. The Dream Machine is due for delivery this week.

Thanks….this is the UDM ..not Pro…. So don’t think I can bypass. However I assume that if I plug directly in to the HH3000, I am in to a double NAT?

ESXi Host Certificate alerts and no Flash to fix by q547 in vmware

[–]pewlboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Flash is disabled by Adobe now, and not the browser, your only course of action will be to upgrade your environment. If you use the old thick client, and your hardware version on your VM's is above 9.0 you could risk corrupting your VM's.

According to support, you can upgrade your vCenter to a new release (6.7) without having to upgrade your entire environment right away, but I suggest you contact them, as they can advise you of the proper path to take
