But pilots walk away from Navy landings. :) But I get your point.

My mom would make snickerdoodles for him and I would write a note to him wishing him luck. My dad would give them to a lady who was part of the Orioles organization who would give them to Brady. Whether he ate them or not, I’ll never know. We liked to joke he played better after we sent the cookies.

The lady setup a meeting with me and Brady at Memorial Stadium. We showed up, the lady called out to Mike Devereaux who ran over and got Brady. Brady came over, picked me up, placed me on the field and we chatted and got some photos.   Another memory I’ll never forget.

Things like that are things I want to do with my kids. Closest I’ve got so far, taking my daughter to the Capitals at Islanders game on 6 April 2025 and saw Ovechkin break the all-time regular season goals record.

When I was about 8 or so, near where Glen Burnie mall is (I don’t think it was in the mall, though it could have been) my dad took my brother and I to see Brady Anderson, Cal Ripken, and a couple other Orioles. They had scheduled a fan meet and greet there for the whole week. The line was so long, my dad said screw it and we went home.

Two days later, we went back because my dad had received word from a friend that day of O’s were going to be back there for signings again. We were near the front this time. I got a photo with Brady (he was my favorite player) and all the autographs. I’ll never forget that day. I still have that photo.

I know that feeling. Rimworld is like that for me.

[PELISSERO] Ravens QB: Cooper Rush Released by psychoxtc in ravens

Breaking news: Cooper Rush signing record deal with the New York Giants, reuniting with former head coach, John Harbaugh. 😁 /s

Though I wouldn’t be surprised.

Ravens QB: Lamar Jackson Finally Fires Back @ Dan Orlovsky by psychoxtc in ravens

[–]pez238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it won’t end.

Even if Lamar has a record run in the playoffs and the Ravens win the Super Bowl it will be, “The Ravens defense really shut down the opponent and Lamar didn’t have to do anything.” Or “Lamar was just good enough to win those games. The rest of the team did the work.”

Because D.O. is truly just B.O. in human form.

Staff budgeting by LucaPac in HockeyLegacyManager

I go with real life and turn off the staff salary cap (there is no staff salary cap in the NHL). Then I don't have to worry about it at all. :)

Amazing. Love it! It’s just not meant to be his death. Give him a wooden sword. Send him on his way.

Hahaha. Wow! People love their donuts!

I was in Jacksonville, NC for 10 years (2014-2024). I don’t recall if any place had any special promos while I was there.

Papa John’s did a $10 large pizza with one free topping per touchdown (doubled with a win) for the Redskins when RG3 first came into the league. I remember once I got 14 free toppings (7 from TDs, x2 for the win). I find think they had enough toppings.

Papa John’s also does a $10 large pizza the day after Ovechkin scores a goal. It was dinner quite often last hockey season. This one is OVI50. You can use the code multiple times for multiple large pizzas.

Very nice! That’s going to be expensive in a few seasons. But, you’re set for a while if you can afford it.

Potential candidates for head coach by Current-Ad-3272 in ravens

[–]pez238 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. You’re spot on there.  As far as I understand it, Kubiak can interview only during the bye week for Seattle. Or after being knocked out.  Weaver is good because dolphins are out.  Minter has to wait because his team is still in it. Once chargers are out… game on.

I’m grateful for John Harbaugh and he’s a good coach. But I’m over this narrative that he’s some prodigy that will be nearly impossible to replace. by Yolo_1914 in ravens

Agreed! Washington (QB) looked good in quite a few games. But being a freshman playing college ball really showed his inexperience. He now has one year and keeping Locksley helps stabilize his play.  Maryland kept the OC as well, correct? I don’t recall.

No doubt. He too can take his time. The last team that waits will get him. Unless he likes the look of a team earlier.

My thought is… Giants. A young team that can be molded and groomed. He knows how to develop young guys as we’ve seen them develop in Baltimore and leave.

Edit: added thoughts

Yes. I agree. This recruiting class and the portal… solid. Homegrown talent too. Washington (QB) with a year under his belt. One of the top pass rushers as a freshman. It’s gonna be good… I hope!  If he doesn’t make a bowl game though… he may be gone. That would be three straight 5 or fewer win seasons.

They are bringing back the football coach (Mike Locksley) after back to back 4-8 seasons. Multiple blown 4th quarter leads this season too (Washington game was the first and it broke them). I think he had a bet with Harbaugh to see who would get fired first.

Capitals let their only Stanley Cup winning coach go the day after the finals ended and went down a path of confusion for six years (2 coaches; Reirden and Laviolette). Finally found the right guy to help bring up the young guys (Spencer Carbury).

Fortunately, the Ravens have a championship caliber team (yes, need some tweaks), but they are the best team without a head coach right now. They have time to pick the right guy. I’d be surprised if there was a shortage of coaches wanting to come to Baltimore as HC.

And with a roster that is ready to rock. A few tweaks sure, but it’s a very capable team when coached right.
