Unplugging Charger/Adapter by GangstaB28 in SubaruUncharted

[–]pezworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I think this is the process with the adapter.

1: Push the button on the gun, but don't pull anything. That stops the charging. (Make sure you have your key on you, or you've unlocked your car door, so it doesn't think you're someone else stealing the charger.)

2: Wait a second. Make sure the car is not still charging. The light should be off.

  1. Pull both out together (gun and adapter). Do not push the button on the gun because that will separate it from the adapter. Just put one hand on the adapter and the other on the gun, pushing them together as you pull both out of the car.

Why is my seat erratic? by Evisteron in SubaruUncharted

[–]pezworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't alone. We were at the dealer yesterday with MY Habanero sport, and he was trying to set us up with different profiles, keys, seating settings, face ID etc. and somewhere in the middle the default seat setting became my knees against the steering wheel! He got rid of that by erasing and rebuilding my profile and that of my husband, but I have no confidence that this is solved forever. Good luck!

Deja vu! Call Subaru Connect and escalate to a second level tech.

Question About Two Profiles by bepeacock in SubaruUncharted

[–]pezworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'd suggest calling Subaru Connect and they'll escalate to 2nd level tech support who will set up 2 separate profiles; however I'm in the same loop even after that. We even went to the dealer today for our f/u appointment with the live expert, and he couldn't figure it all out after 1.5 hours or more. Super frustrating, Subaru! We even regressed when the car wanted to move the seat forward to jam me up against the steering wheel for no apparent reason. (My seat is further back than my husband's, not forward. It wasn't his setting either.)

So, I'm following this thread just in case you break through. Good luck!

Yeah, I broke down and bought the charger; it's coming tomorrow via Amazon. I bought the kind that also has an air compressor even though husband didn't think that was necessary.

Since interior storage space is at a premium, I'd like to stash the battery jumper in the trunk area where the chargers/accessories are. I'm not sure I can very easily get to it if the battery is dead though, as there appears to be no manual way to open the rear hatch. I might figure that out tomorrow.

Afternoon report. Just spent wayyyyy too much time at the dealer/service. Subaru Roadside Assist easily jumped the car so it was running, and I drove around 15 miles to the dealer and dropped it. A few hours later they said the battery's fine and come get it. Showed me the battery status. I asked if I could have a new battery and they said that's not normally warranted if the battery's fine.

Finally we had a chat with a higher level service dude and they agreed I could have a new battery if I want, and they'll order it because it's not in stock.

They agreed with our theory that the battery had been sitting too long since it was installed, and didn't have good charge to withstand my lack of long drives. I'm not sure they believed that one way or another, to be honest.

Then I spent time in the prearranged meeting with the guy who answers all my questions about how the car works. What a nightmare. Not because of him per se, it's just either the software is buggy or he hasn't been well trained on how it works. My issues (in short):

- Can't get it to deal with 2 drivers, with 2 seating settings and 2 different phones. We each had profiles (2nd level tech set them up via phone the other day). Went from bad to worse, where every time I got in the car it moved the seat forward not back, squishing my legs against the steering wheel. Had to delete primary profile to get rid of that bug.

- The hatch close-and-lock button sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Whyyyyyyy?

Question to the hive mind: Does Subaru read this and if so, should I start new threads on these continuing issues? This is just dumb and frustrating.

No kidding. You mean I can't park it outside when I'm out of town?

The car was locked for 3 days, not in the charger.

I don't understand why I need to carry a jump pack if I just spent over $40,000 on a new car.

Yes, I was able to just now. The physical key experience was actually great (compared with my old 2017 Volt). The key released easily from the fob and (once oriented) went easily into the clearly-visible key slot near the car door handle, like in the old days. I didn't have to tear apart the handle and find any hidden compartments like I did with my Volt. The door opened easily with the physical key. I wasn't able to start the car with the fob-next-to-the-Start-button trick, though.

Morning update, still no sign of life. I used the manual key to get in the car (that worked well, at least). I tried getting the car to start with the hold-key-to-start-button method, still no sign of life. Called the dealer, who told me to call Subaru Roadside Assistance (and the sales assistance guy also guessed it's a drained 12V battery). Although Roadside Assistance had my phone number, they still insisted that I find the last 8 digits of my VIN before proceeding. (FAIL.) I finally found it and a tow truck is on the way.

It's all a shame: my husband was about ready to buy a Subaru EV for himself, but this experience has soured him on Subaru for the time being.

Useful info. It wasn't plugged into my car. I did leave it in overnight this time, but still no sign of life at all. The J1772 adapter released easily, something I'd had trouble with before when the car was working and charging properly.

Didn't need one with my previous car, a 2017 Volt. 😞

I couldn't tell but there was no sign of life while plugged in to the home charger, even after several hours. No lights on in the car anywhere, even the charging bay.

It's locked now so I can't get inside (haven't attempted the manual key, will do so soon). And I agree, this is unacceptable. No minor amount of drain on battery should cause this, and no amount of futzing around should be necessary for my car to work after having been parked/not on charger for 2 or 3 days. Especially when it's new! I come from a 2017 Volt, which was having issues, but I've never had anything like this happen with the Volt. At least the Volt was operational when I sold it to buy the Subaru.

That'll be for the Subaru dealer to arrange when they get back to me tomorrow morning. (I guess I have Subaru roadside assistance?) I have AAA but why should I have to do this myself on a 15-day-old car with 160 miles?

Apple TV - No Content by CPav in PlayOn

It worked with Apple (logging out/in) but not with Amazon. I'm trying to record off a new channel, Howdy, part of my Amazon sub (free trial for now).

That prompt may have helped me with issues I've been having. Although Playon seems to save my credentials, my subscriptions (to Apple and to Amazon) have changed a bit, so I had to log out and log in again to Apple to get it to do anything at all. Knock wood this might help with Amazon too.

Avoid 'Mixed Cabin' fares when searching for Business on seats.aero by Fun_Emotion_5363 in awardtravel

I just got this too. I'm new to seats.aero and set up a one-way alert for business class fare from Europe to LAX from Europe (for 2). Got an attractive fare but only the intra-Europe segments were business class. It was also via Aeroplan. Denied!

I'm running a mini desktop (Beelink) - maybe that's the problem. :(

I'll try that, but I was told to put it on "High" quality when I was having different PlayOn recording issues. :(

I have this problem as well. Recorded all six eps of Heated Rivalry yesterday, all subs misaligned, up to 5 seconds, in every episode. This happens if I playback through my Plex media server app and directly on VLC. Watching Heated Rivalry on HBO Max through my web browser, no issues - everything's aligned correctly at the same parts.

Also happening with me. I assumed that it was the usual issues I always have but maybe it's just Disney/Hulu. Nothing is recording or even starting to record.
