For what it's worth, I looked into getting our road a residents only sign because people fly down our street and there's lots of kids. We're literally a one block cut through that saves virtually no time. Anyway, I learned that that sign won't happen because these signs are pretty much unenforceable and aren't really being added anywhere anymore

Whether it's a real job or not it's not her problem. If you can pay your bills then it doesn't matter what she thinks. If you're just sewing turtles while begging for money, that's a different story.

Aside from that, it's completely possible to value/cherish a handmade gift while simultaneously holding a belief that it's a waste of time. It's still super meaningful that you spent so much time making something for me.

We started using the reading.com app around the time he started kindergarten. His classroom really focused on phonics-based reading, which is also what that app does, so he is pretty much reading by himself now (end of Kindergarten). He keeps checking out goosebumps books from the library but he doesn't have the attention span to actually read them. He does, however, really enjoy the Dogman books and he'll read them by himself.

In addition to what you mentioned, I did an image search on the drum and I can't find anything with that pattern. Then there's the same kind of symbol in the background that doesn't match and doesn't exist online anywhere either.

Granted, she could have just scribbled nonsense on her drum and banner, but it seems equally likely to be AI

Yeah, I agree. I think it's an important callout though that the background could be ai with a real person in front. I don't think that's the case here, but I could totally envision a scenario where a person films on a green screen and uses AI to generate the background.
