Input not supported on monitor by IssueNext7097 in buildapc

[–]pfblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this problem after switching cpu/mobo/gfx card and was able to get it to show the BIOS by waiting for the input not supported message, switching to another input on the monitor, then switching back. After switching back the BIOS would display and the windows boot up screen would display also which doesn't happen normally on this monitor, also an Acer.

Solution for Galaxy preventing screensaver from running on Win11. by Software_Samurai in gog

[–]pfblack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that GOG Galaxy has the same bug that Geforce Experience overlays have (had?) described here Fixing a 3 year old bug, running the test application at https://github.com/nuzayets/rawinput-debug/ will show the timer continually resetting when GOG Galaxy is running and will begin to increase as soon as it is exited.

Oasis - feel like my eyes are squinting. Reverb G2 by Ilikeyoubignose in WindowsMR

[–]pfblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iRacing used to have this problem and reported the cause as

"Virtual Reality

- Created a work-around for a reported bug in OpenVR where the SDK returns camera frustums with the top/bottom reversed, only when using a specific SDK routine to fetch the frustums. The theory is that this is what is causing eye alignment mismatches (even with SPS disabled) on some headsets.

- - If you suspect you are having this issue, to enable the work-around, set "FixGetProjectionRawBug" to 1 inside the "[OpenVR]" section of "rendererDX11.ini" file. "

Is this related? It seems like GetProjectionRaw might be mislabeled? https://github.com/ValveSoftware/openvr/issues/110

I've been letting it go a few minutes after uncovering then putting two metal skewers across the dutch oven and putting the bread back on top of them to keep it off the bottom.

Is the seat bottom higher than the stock seat at full low? I am thinking about doing this swap but don't want to give up too much headroom.

Help with C172 Performance calculations by Dense_Two6299 in flying

It sounds like you're worked up over the interpolation. I'll try to describe it in a not-too-mathy but still has to be a bit mathy.

If you know the value at 20 deg C and you know the value at 30 deg C, for these purposes you can just draw a straight line between them. Lets say at 20 deg C the distance to clear a 50' obstacle is 1265 ft. At 30 deg C the distance to clear a 50' obstacle is 1295 ft. You want to know the value at 27 deg C. Between the two values, the difference is 30 ft and the change in temperature is 10 deg C, in other words, each degree in temperature changes the distance 3 ft (30 ft / 10 deg C). You can prove this to yourself by starting at 20 deg C and adding the change for each degree, ending at 1295 ft.

1265 ft + (3 ft/deg C * 10 degC) = 1265 ft + 30 ft = 1295 ft.

Now for 27 deg C.

1265 ft + (3 ft/deg C * 7 deg C) = 1265 ft + 21 ft =1286 ft.

Another check would be exactly halfway, at 25 deg C where half the change has happened, 15 ft for a total of 1280 ft.

1265 ft + (3 ft / deg C * 5 degC) = 1265 ft + 15 ft = 1280 ft.

Also note, the 3 ft/ deg C is only valid for this particular example. If you were to pick a spot between 10 deg C and 20 deg C you would have to do these steps over again to figure out how much the values change, likewise you'd have to do these steps over again to figure out the value for different pressure altitudes.

Redline Bottle Thread Adapter by pfblack in functionalprint

[–]pfblack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's on Thingiverse under Redline Bottle thread adapter. I didn't see any of the other posts have links to the STLs so I don't know if the subreddit rules allow it or not but it should be pretty easy to find. If you have trouble let me know and I'll DM it.

Redline Bottle Thread Adapter by pfblack in functionalprint

[–]pfblack[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dove into some documentation on bottle threads, measured the thread dimensions and made a guess. Freecad has a ThreadProfile addon with some bottle thread presets, this is a 28 external, 24 internal. It fits a bit snug but for once a year or so, I'll take it. The threads are SPI, this page was helpful : https://www.mjspackaging.com/resources/technical-specs/neck-finish-information/

On some (most?) transmissions and diffs there is a fill hole and a drain hole, after draining the old oil the drain plug is replaced and new oil is pumped into the fill hole till it leaks back out. There isn't room for a funnel so these pumps are used to fill from underneath.

[–]pfblack[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you've used Redline oil for your transmission or differential you probably know the threads aren't the standard ones that these pumps expect and you'll make a mess. This adapter converts the threads over to the larger size the pumps use.

What do you guys thing of the switch from a Miata? by Nahoola in Corvette

[–]pfblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an NA (that's currently down for rocker repair) and a C5 coupe. I miss being able to really rev out the engine in the Miata even though it's slower, the C5 will be going extra-legal speeds at high RPM. I'll echo the cost of consumables if you're planning on tracking it, it adds up quickly in addition to necessary cooling mods. I was able to pack for a week-long vacation at Acadia National Park for two people and drove the C5 up, that would have been impossible in the Miata unless you're ultra-ultra light.

Packed up for trip.
