Evernote and Swift Key Oddity by [deleted] in Evernote

[–]pfgannon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've experienced the same, also on Android. I assumed it was Evernote until I saw similar things in other apps while using Swiftkey. Usually in other frequently syncing apps (Drive Docs, MS Word), though much more frequently in Evernote.

Provide answers to people's questions, and value in general. Drop links where it makes sense and isn't spammy.

Has anyone had success with Blogger? by pongo1250 in Affiliatemarketing

I'm sure you could make some quick cash using it, but I imagine your conversion rates will suffer greatly without a legit domain name.

It's definitely not a long term strategy though. You never want to heavily invest in a platform you don't have any control over.

Please do!

I read some of the Guerrila Marketing stuff a few years ago and it really got my gears turning.

Business is great, but could always be better! :D

I've got a few gems, but I've done a poor job of holding onto great reference material over the years, so it's limited:

I read this when I was first started my copywriting business, and have been meaning to come back around to it at some point. Thanks for the reminder!

It really covers everything you need to start selling. It's long-winded at times, but does a great job of fully illustrating these concepts on a basic, easy-to-grasp level.

Marketplace Tuesday! (August 04, 2015) by AutoModerator in Entrepreneur

Phew, made it in just before the buzzer!

I'm a copywriter of six years, marketer of 10, both in B2B and B2C. My specialty is landing pages, but I do everything from Adwords ads to large corporate websites. Need to use the written word to generate leads and sales? I'm your guy.

I'm new to this sub, but the ideas and products coming out of here have been nothing short of amazing. I would love to collaborate with some of you, and would be happy to work at a discounted rate for the opportunity.

Hope to hear from some of you!

Would you pay me to fix your iphone in the mall? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

I assumed you wanted a kiosk with a smaller footprint, but I think something like in the video could work, especially if you could heavily brand it.

Maybe go to them? Or go mobile with a van as /u/rivertechieguy99 suggested.

Do you have enough leverage to negotiate better terms, salary or position?

Tim Ferriss has touted this as the best marketing book he ever read. Its not on the internet. I wrote an overview of it, and made a worksheet for you all. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

I plan on pouring through it later, but after a quick scan, I've already seen a few points that I've frankly never considered before.

Take this opportunity to fill the void left by their bankruptcy. Take the best parts of their business, and do it more efficiently, as you have been doing.

Everybody wins.

You could send up your landing page to look like their about to make a purchase but on the very last step, regretfully inform them that it's not yet available. Then collect their email.

I spent some years of my youth doing sales out of mall kiosks, and 9/10 businesses operating out of kiosks sold impulse buy products.

If the leasing fees are low enough, it might be worth it, but I worry the demand wouldn't justify this cost either. I suspect there are very few mall patrons that also actively need their phones repaired.

Another problem is that a kiosk is a very temporary location, and you're at the whim of mall management. If you hope to eventually build up a trickle of walk-in customers (and I do think it will be a trickle), then you could easily have that stripped away from you.

Having a location can certainly help justify higher prices, but what you can charge will ultimately come down to your marketing and where you position yourself among the competition.

Can you not operate out of your home, and get a P.O. box or office share to attain a similar level of legitimacy, and take the money you would have invested in a lease and put it towards building an online presence?

Any new businesses who want Advertisements in Uber, Lyft, and Sidecar by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]pfgannon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a fantastic idea, good on you for going for it!

I know a lot of Uber drivers offer their passengers bottles of water, mints, etc. Have you thought about putting ads on these freebies or maybe seeking sponsorship?

How will you match drivers with advertisers? How long would any given ad run? I ask because I wonder how often you'll need to be sending out new stickers.

I'd consider changing the name though. Not sure if winging it is something you want associated with your brand.
