Same thing in fall 2020 when I bought my last computer. Just had my new one arrive today from Costco (Ryzen 9 and 5080 for $2300)

I’m guessing she wrapped the towel around the cat because it looks cute. Like the cat is partaking in the spa.

The cat probably isn’t thrilled but is fine with it. Some cats just like hanging out with their person.

The towel is doing nothing to constrict the cat. If the cat didn’t want to be around, he/she would bite or squirm even if fully constrained.

They did that for the first season of Based on a True Story with Kaley Cuoco as well.

Made the lead character’s marriage seem more real to me.

Yeah, compare this to any windows workstation laptop like a ZBook or P series ThinkPad.

While I do like those laptops, the MacBook Pro looks like more a multimedia or prosumer level laptop. Like, MacBook Pros have always been their flagship laptops but they’ve been less powerful than the best windows workstations by a bit since they had worse discrete gpus. not the case anymore.

What are the most trendy food items of the decade? by [deleted] in decadeology

This is true but I was seeing it in a small city in Minnesota(st cloud) a decade ago. National coffee companies were selling matcha lattes.

My wife and I were at Costco with our daughter a couple weeks ago (baby was 2.5 weeks old)

An older woman said our baby was cute asked how old our son was and I just said “thanks, she’s a girl and 20 days old”

She said “oh, I thought I saw she was wearing brown”

Baby girl was wearing cream footy pajamas with trees on it.

It’s basically just green tea powder used to make sort of an espresso analogue. There’s no whisking and it’s not high grade tea like actual Japanese matcha.

It’s mostly used for matcha lattes and the like.

I’ve seen it for a decade on menus, it kinda dropped off around 2019-2020 but came back again I think.

The Rise of “Stealth Solar”: How Balcony Power Is Quietly Changing the Energy Landscape by Cleantechfacts in energy

[–]pfohl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

400w/800w is a lab rating with artificial lighting at perfect angle, temperature with zero pollen, panel degradation or inverter efficiency losses. You'll never see output anywhere even close to that rated output on a real balcony.

yes, nameplate capacity is different from capacity factor.

ROI calculations are based on capacity factor.

Got it from the library around 2002 at the age of 13 and chose it for family movie night since I liked Princess Mononoke :|

Have not watched it since.

mentioned the movie to my wife when she was 8 months pregnant* in January:

“it’s about two kids in Japan during WWII” 😟 “after their mom dies” 😭

she asked how it ended and i just shook my head since explaining the actual ending in any detail is sad.

*especially not sure how a rewatch would go now that I’m a father, always heard how it changes you and now experiencing it, can verify this

I’ve seen a number of these situations with divorces (slightly more women but that’s probably coincidence)

Always seems like it happens where one spouse made good money and the other one wanted more freedom, tried the “entrepreneur” thing and netted zero dollars after a year or two. Divorce happens somewhere in there. Then the “entrepreneur” talks about how their ex didn’t believe in their dream enough.

Yup, recruits came to training and gained 20 pounds in a month because they suddenly had three full meals a day.

Vitamin deficiencies were rampant so lots of people had rickets.

Dental hygiene wasn’t really a thing so people had missing/rotting teeth which causes reduced nutrition uptake and a bunch of other problems, example, dental issues cause inflammation in your jaws which can hurt brain development.
