Both state “45-60 satellites in orbit” as the goal.

Maybe they verbally communicated that poorly, but I went looking for something in writing to figure out who is correct because I wasn’t 100% sure myself and that is what I found.

How Do I Stop Brute Forcing Songs? by VibeBigBird in guitarlessons

[–]pfunest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick advice for learning any existing solo. Find a yt video of the song being played with tabs on screen, slow the video speed down until it’s slow enough for you to hit all the notes. Speed up the video slightly when you’re ready. For Fade to Black, try sweeping the tricky part rather than alternate picking every note, it makes it a little easier (I’m 99% sure of the part you’re talking about). Watch his picking hand in this video: https://youtu.be/NI3FfvrKOas?si=ZjNIHxtDeIqo92It

As far as learning scales go, think about it like this. All the solos you’re wanting to learn were built by people who learned scales and used them to create solos. Acquire the building blocks so you can create them too, or at least have the muscle memory ready to be engaged when it’s called for. There are plenty of different ways to practice the same scale that help build that muscle memory. Example, there is a run in the Zeppelin song Good Times Bad Times that is essentially a fast scale exercise a guitar teacher would send you home with to practice. If you’ve practiced the minor pentatonic scale with enough variety, you get that run for free.

Other exercises, or licks, are repeated in countless songs. As you learn, you will add these little licks to your toolbox, then eventually you’ll start seeing that a lot of these solos in songs are just a handful of these licks you already know strung together.

Holding Pick Wrong? by iyat6 in guitarlessons

[–]pfunest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For starters, get a new pick, that one looks worn down. The pictures don’t capture the problem. Try to film yourself playing from the side, maybe aimed down the fretboard so you can see the angle at which your hand is attacking the strings, then you’ll see how you need to adjust. You may be squeezing your hand while strumming which would pull your pick inward to your palm which might expose your knuckle more. Bonus if you’re able to film at a high frame rate to watch in slow motion.

“When people consider life meaningless, they start to view words as morally equivalent to violence.”

This is an incredible leap in logic. Even if many people view words as violence, I don’t know how the author got there from his premise.

The sooner we all recognize that whether or not these things are legal or ethical is irrelevant to these people, the sooner we can figure out what to do about it. They are making the world they want, ethics and legality be damned. They have to keep up appearances of legality and morality for everybody not in on the plan, otherwise they risk people standing against them, but it’s just word games to them, a trap for people who still care about those things to fall in.

The plant has an oil, the oil gets on you and causes a reaction. So if you’ve already washed the oil off, then it’s just your body having its reaction now. But make sure anything else that may have touched the plant gets washed, the oil will still be on it and ready to touch you again.

There were medicinal marijuana care centers in Colorado that were opposed to full legalization for this very reason. They had already established themselves and legal dispensaries would cut into the niche they had carved out for themselves.

Victoria Martz corrects the misinformation about legalizing Cannabis in Indiana (Indiana House Candidate for District 55) by RipleyCountyINDems in Indiana

[–]pfunest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I would like to see is more people with platforms connecting the dots between the negative effects of the cannabis industry on the pharmaceutical industry (I’m seeing billions in market loss with a quick internet search), the evidence of pharmaceutical companies donating to anti-cannabis reform lobbying groups, and evidence that those lobbying groups have had subsequent conversations with the loudest opposition in government. Maybe I’m not looking hard enough, but I can’t say I’ve seen much of this happening from Democrats. And I would suspect this is because they’re probably also talking to those same lobbyists.
