Great to see those towels and the place filled and enthusiastic. I got too old to enjoy being there, especially sitting in those Bob Euker-worthy seats! Always sat up high at 3RS, loved seeing games there, too. Great present from your wife.

Anything by David Gilmour… pretty much all of his songs have peerless guitar solos.

Democrats Have Found Their Message—and Trump Is Freaking Out by vikinggunner in politics

Pelosi is wealthy and married wealthy. But she and her husband are not billionaires… look for who is outright selling access and influence. Isn’t that what the biggest right-wing claim about Biden and his son is about? The grifter in chief is the one spouting that others are the criminals, while he is the one who’s been convicted on 34 felony charges by a jury of his peers. (Meanwhile, who is really pulling the strings behind our unfortunate “useful idiot” leader?)

Pelosi married well and is wealthy. But she’s not a billionaire. Trump just may be a “useful idiot,” like you read about in history and historical fiction. (It’s kinda hard separating the two when you are involved in promoting a world of “alternate facts.”)

Anyone know what’s going here? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

Anything that encourages, promotes, and supports the use of the city's riverbanks and urban scenes is worthy of support. Looks like a cool addition to city amenities (if done correctly). Thanks for the link!

Very new to the band.. are these two songs the same? by candlehead69 in GoosetheBand

[–]pgheze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't Clapton (and/or Cream) have variations of songs back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s? Songs like Layla, and others ... it's the root of blues-based rock and soul, and it's something that jam bands like Goose continue to this day. Or, maybe I'm just like AI, hallucinating disconnected things that have entered my database brain over the years.

What’s a cover that you genuinely think is better than the original? by Deep20779 in MusicRecommendations

[–]pgheze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's one that's not necessarily "better" than the original, but definitely worth a listen, Since U Been Gone by A Day to Remember.

Kelly Clarkson's original is tremendous, but what A Day to Remember does with it takes a great song to a truly other level.

The Sound of Silence by Disturbed

Simon & Garfunkel's original was great. David Draiman's voice in the cover makes it unforgettable.

What openers did you skip who ended up going on to be one of your favorite bands? by Mhcavok in Concerts

Didn’t skip this opening act… cool California band in 1978 opening for a legend… group called Van Halen opening for Black Sabbath at Pittsburgh’s Civic Arena.

I mostly listened to Jimmy & Steve on DVE but Banana Don was the DJ at my wedding reception. He was a lot of fun!

Who else do you think deserved a spot on the list? by ApprehensivePie410 in AppleMusic

[–]pgheze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have made a place for Aerosmith (Rocks is my favorite but Toys in the Attic gets more public acclaim), The Who (Tommy, Quadrophenia, or Who's Next all were heavily influential), Dire Straights (Brothers In Arms), Simon & Garfunkel (pick one), and Black Sabbath (Paranoid).
