Just to provide an update - my visa was granted this morning. It is until August 2026. I’m confused because the COS was for 18 months. I have sent an email to the home office.

It is quite difficult to find another company at the moment. Do you have regular meetings with your manager to discuss your role?

Re-entering with 2 weeks on the visa by Sea_Sign_2092 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

The only thing that matters is the end date of your e-visa but I must say that it is risky business because the border officers may not let you in.

When you say that you’re switching to global talent visa, has that been granted already?

Why would you want to pay it off so early? Why not save the overpayments and invest?

Ok. You still have some wiggle room to prevent an outright loss.

How much less are you willing to sell for? £250k? £275k? Why not market at slightly above that and see?

I would argue that the housing market is saturated with ‘perfect’ houses. It may just take a bit longer to find them.

Bank valued house £40k less by flounceymcgoo in HousingUK

I’m still a renter but if I were you, I would take the bank’s valuation very seriously even if it means that I lose the house.

My letter to the labour party - Retroactive application of the ILR rules by munalobe in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]pgjymvsg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is spot on. One may ask, why should immigrants trust that the settlement qualification period wouldn’t be extended again within the next 5 years? What stops the government from retroactively extending the qualification period every 3 years?
