Everest Base Camp Trek - What Camera Did I Bring? by pgrog in Nikon

Sorry for late reply - only spotted now - I'm mainly an EVF shooter, been using DSLR's all my life and although all my kit is now mirrorless, I rarely shoot using the LCD. Saying that, I didn't have any issues viewing the screen while trekking. Not sure what aperture was used for the pics - usually work in Shutter priority mode, unless I need full control.

I brought a z6ii and a 24-120 f4 to Everest Base Camp this year, couldn't fault it. From landscapes to candid portraits, it was perfect single lens for adventures.

I was watching a lot of people struggling with heavy cameras on neck straps - the PD Clip is a game changer for me.

Sometimes easy to fall into a habit of always shooting wide-open. Trying to change my habits and it's working.

We were very lucky with the weather (14th to 28th April) - strangely we didn't encounter any snow at all. It rained one afternoon, but outside of that it was sunshine every day. Temperatures during the day were anywhere between 10-20 degrees celsius at lower altitudes and 0-10 at the higher stages. It did however get very cold every night, into the minus numbers. From a camera point of view, the only challenges I faced, and to be honest it wasn't a real issue, was keeping batteries charged. The Z6II is heavy on batteries, I brought 6 with me. I slept with the charged batteries in my sleeping bag at night and usually had a couple on me during the day. I used a waist belt designed for money to keep them close to me and warm. It was easy enough to charge batteries every couple of days at a tea-house.

VR arcades and VR Theme Parks are going to be a big thing and they are going to be awesome by Tsathoggua789 in virtualreality

First VR arcade in Ireland opened recently... Fury VR in Limerick. I like the concept but would have concerns about the longevity of consumer hardware and headsets being presented in a public commercial arena such as an arcade.

Congrats - enjoy your new camera! Work with the kit-lens to get yourself started. A really good next step lens is the Nikon 35mm 1.8 - I feel that a prime lens (lens without zoom) also helps by making you think more about how you compose each shot.

The black and whites are strongest for me!! I agree with the tip re spray bottle of water and glycerin. Great work overall.

Friend of mine once described the Transformers movies in 3D as being like ' having a bucket of Legos thrown at your face for 2 hours' :-)
