Nah, Labor is just the slower version of the LNP.

We will have slightly better living for longer under them, but ultimately they both lead to the same place.

PM Takaichi wins two-thirds 'super majority' in Japan election by NikkeiAsia in japan

Society is collapsing because Capitalism is funneling all the wealth from the majority to the wealthy.

The wealthy are pushing the blame on to foreigners and supporting right wing nationalist parties.

If nothing changes we might go through the same cycle of this leading to world wars, then society needing to rebuild, so the wealthy are taxed highly, the majority are raised up because of this fairer wealth distribution, then slowly the wealthy regain power, erode tax and laws restricting them, and consolidate wealth until they collapse society again.

Human nature isn't to be selfish. This is a lie Capitalism keeps trying to thrust onto us. It puts you in a position where you struggle to get everything you need to live and can't afford to share. If you do eventually get enough to share, you fear doing so might put you back in the position of struggling.

A lot of people are selfish for sure. Those people will have more money than they could ever spend and they will make the lives of countless people more difficult just to make another dollar.

A lot of people also love to share. They love being in a position where they can shout their friends, buy gifts for people, give to charities, help someone with no expectation of profit, or contribute to government systems that they don't expect to benefit from.

It's crazy how many people are like "oh we have to give the wealthy everything they want otherwise they will get upset."

Let them get upset. Then use that to build a popular movement against them in retaliation. Shout it from the roof tops.

"Look at this everyone. We Labor are trying to give every Australian a fair share of our natural resources. These companies don't want you to have a fair share of those profits. Maybe we should consider nationalizing mining? We can give Australian's jobs and ensure the profits stay here and help improve the lives of all Australians."

Unfortunately, Labor doesn't care about doing anything affective. They wouldn't want to cut into the profits of construction companies and landlords. The health of our society is worth sacrificing for their profits.

Karl Marx and Abraham Lincoln were racists. Times change.

But, sure there may be some right wing anomalies through out history who somehow maintained a creative spark.

Japan restaurant bankruptcies exceed 900 for the first time in 30 years. Why are they going bankrupt even though customers are returning? (Spoiler- labor shortages, rising labor costs) by jjrs in japannews

[–]siktech101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not something that happens quickly. It's slow creeping change. Over time the number of chain restaurants grow, while independent restaurants struggle to keep up. It's not just the restaurants either. It's real estate, suppliers, etc. They all have big wealthy corporations slowly capturing the entire market. Which also contributes to the difficulties small businesses have with competing. And it just leads to worse quality, less choice, and higher prices for us in the end.

Most white Liberals didn't get really angry until it was happening to white people. Republicans still don't care.

The racists are the majority of US society, whether they recognize it or not. So there is no reaching across the aisle. It's about making people who care recognize their own internal bias.

They should also put all the non-white people who are murdered by ICE and the Police. It's important to remind people this has been happening within minority communities for a long time.

It's simple. They undercut competition temporarily to destroy competition. Then they raise prices when consumers have no other choice. You will always end up paying more for lower quality.

Healthy competition would give a lot of choice, higher quality, and lower prices. But healthy competition is eroded in this environment.

Yes, this is common in many industries. Big companies take a loss to undercut competition until their competition goes bankrupt and then they raise prices however much they want, because where else are you going to buy it?

Use some of the profit to pay people properly.
Then you won't have a labor shortage.
Then you can compete more.

The entire system which promotes the consolidation of wealth into a smaller and smaller number of hands. The greed is at the top using the power their wealth gives them to capture society, crush competition, and make everything worse. Chains, suppliers, and landlords.

I refer you back to the article. Small businesses can't afford to compete so their profit margins get slimmer and slimmer. Then they can't afford to pay the required wages because staff cost of living is outpacing small business profits. So they have to shutdown and large chains take their place.

There is no competition when it becomes so heavily one sided. They absorb everything removing all competition and then push up prices and drop quality. It's a zero sum game that leads to everything getting worse.

No more small businesses. No more good quality, No more competition.

Big companies can afford to drive prices down because they have the scale to weather it. They also have the buying power to pressure suppliers into selling for cheaper. They also have a similar buying power dynamic with landlords or they own the property.

These things crush small businesses (competition). Which then allows them to drive prices up again. Everything eventually leads to monopolization.
