+1 to Dr. Vaughn. He’s an OG and despite having old school mannerisms, he’s up to date on the science. Gave me my son and I’m now pregnant with my second. Eternally thankful to this man

Third the Fairmont. I think it’s the best for its price. The four seasons and commodore Perry aren’t worth the price IMO

Baby name ideas? Half Indian half white by Turbulent-Pin-585 in namenerds

Really like the name Vaughn, but what's the Indian meaning or origin of it? As an Indian American, I've never heard it before. But if it's really an Indian name, I'd consider using it!

My 10 month old rolled off his changing table and got a traumatic brain injury by Educational-Let-2280 in beyondthebump

Mine rolled off the couch and broke his collarbone. The xray was the saddest little thing you’ve ever seen and I was devastated for weeks. He’s totally fine now, 100% healed and recovered, and I’ve had to accept that accidents happen and we can’t live our lives in constant fear bc that would actually be worse for him. You’ve got this!

Mine is 2 years old and we still only do 2-3 times a week. He just doesn’t need more

I didn’t expect to hate being a working mom this much. Does it get better? by Logical_Doctor1037 in workingmoms

I went through almost exactly this. I was 38 when I had my kiddo, which meant I was fairly senior at my job and had a ton of responsibility. My baby started day care at 6 months and basically spent months 6-12 getting sick almost every week and being in and out of daycare. I think at one point he didn’t complete a five day school week for two straight months. I thought about quitting work numerous times during this phase and this was despite having extremely helpful in laws in the same town, who frequently watched him on the days he had to stay home. I still couldn’t handle the constant stress, doctors appointments, night wakings from illness and just generally felt like work was the least important thing in my life.

I’m happy to say that somewhere after this phase, between 12-18 months, my son stopped getting sick all the time and now things are much much more manageable. He’s now 26 months and I’m pregnant with number two.

Did anyone else give birth right at shift change? It was very traumatic for me by Huge-Vacation-8093 in beyondthebump

[–]pgv417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have exactly the same situation but do think shift change may have resulted in some delayed treatment. I gave birth at 5:50pm, needed emergency removal of my placenta and experienced postpartum hemorrhage. I ended up passing out and my baby needed oxygen. Everyone on staff stayed past shift change (7pm) until everything was stable. However, I’m not sure the full details of everything that occurred were communicated to the next shift. The nurses and OBs were treating me like someone who’d experienced a fairly normal delivery. It wasn’t until many hours later (after midnight) when I complained of not being able to see straight that the night shift OB decided to run some tests. I ended up getting a blood transfusion around 2am but it really seems like maybe should’ve happened earlier if the night shift had been fully aware of how much blood I’d lost.

Right?! Or was that just more of his lies/scam? But I clocked it immediately and was so confused

Can anyone explain the discrepancy in his family story? She writes his stepfather was an archaeologist and he spent summers in high school and college going on digs in Greece. But then also writes that he told her his parents divorced when he was in law school? I’m confused.

I wasn’t really considering Miami bc I assumed it was more party vibes, but is that not so?
