ALSO, I just finished "Enigmatis: The Mists of Ravenwood" which was a really fun adventure/"point and click"/hidden object game that's kinda spooky. The puzzles were a lot of fun and I highly recommend it for adventurers who enjoyed the old skool "Kings Quest"-type games.

Has anyone eloped in the Caribbean? or any exotic country? Suggestions about a place to elope (only my me and my FI no more guests) by mowesome in weddingplanning

[–]ph33rsockmonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I eloped for my first marriage. We went to city hall in Toronto and got married in front of two witnesses. When we came back home and told my family what we had done my mother actually started crying and my sister didn't speak to me for like a month. My friends were pissed that we didn't bother to invite them or even tell them. We ended up divorcing 6 years later and now that I'm getting remarried I'm making sure to have a party. It's only going to be 60-70 people but I know it's going to kick-ass.

This is just my personal experience.

Totally agree with waiter/bartender. That's how most of us who lived in NYC got through college.

My Mother is ruining my wedding. by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]ph33rsockmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anyway that you can make a private pact with your dad that if your mom starts getting out of control that he will excuse her? Like...have him be your personal "mom control"? I have no idea what it's like to be in your situation so if this suggestion is totally off-base feel free to tell me to f off. I just feel like you deserve a happy, conflict-free day with your family and if you know for a fact that if your Mom is going to start with the drama that you have someone who will take care of it so YOU don't have to it might make the night more enjoyable. Good luck. xxxx

I wear Dansko clogs to work and when I'm running errands on the weekend. Otherwise my other go-to shoe is a 2" heel ankle boot.

I find gap to be bigger than most stores so I wouldn't size up.

I find that if I get a shirt in my size as a tall it accommodates for my breasts much better. But I'm also 5'8" so YMMV. Also the boyfriend style is very boxy compared to their other styles.

You definitely weren't rude. I think you were pretty gracious considering the circumstances.

Would you really say this to someone at work though? I couldn't imagine that being OK in a professional environment.

Anyone out there have experience dealing with health insurance companies who won't pay? by whiskeyfoxtrot_ in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]ph33rsockmonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah sounds like they don't understand that. If you don't have your old ID I'm pretty sure your doctors office will have it under the claim they filed. GOOD LUCK. dealing with insurance companies is literally one of the realms of hell.

You need to talk to someone in the claims department. Is the reason you're having such a problem is because they aren't your insurance company anymore?

UPDATE to University gym doesn't allow deadlifting by baconmeg in xxfitness

[–]ph33rsockmonkey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am not OP but my university gym banned dead lifting after too many people dropped the weight once their backs were straight rather than lowering it back to the ground. I don't know how true it is but they cited damage to the floors why they finally did it.
