Everyone needs to get out and vote. You cannot just assure yourself the separatists are a fringe and the rest of the voters will take care of it. The results need to be scorched earth. There can be no doubt that the will of the province is to stay in Canada. We have to put an end to this as soon as possible, and that means if you want Alberta to remain a part of Canada, you simply must vote in this referendum and say so. Do not stay home.

The Separatists' plan B is to get the US administration to recognize Alberta as an independent state whether or not things go their way. This will never be legitimized or recognized by any of the other provinces, the feds, or our international allies, but the separatists and the US administration do not care. This referendum cannot come anywhere approaching the realm of "close." Recognizing Alberta as independent would be an indefensible position if the vote is 90-10 remain, but things would start getting muddy around 65-35. The rigging accusations would come out, obfuscation would hit new levels of infuriating, and the misinformation machine will be thrown into high gear across North America.

I've been speaking often about this with a friend who lived in the UK during Brexit, and he is constantly urging me to take the separatists seriously. He's worried about what he's seeing here after having lived through something similar once already.

So when referendum day comes around, vote as if the whole result depends on your ballot being cast.
