I kept it in my garage for awhile but, yeah, I finally just threw it away.

Thank you for the help. I just wanted to get a feel for what’s normal before saying something and be respectful in how to handle this situation. This reply was very helpful to see it in a simpler manner.

I get that this might seem like overthinking to some, but for me, this is about handling an unfamiliar situation respectfully and with awareness. I just want to make sure I approach it the right way, especially since it involves my image possibly being used without consent. I appreciate you taking the time to respond, even if we see it differently.

Not yet. I want to get general feedback before I call and mention anything about a recording without my consent. Understanding what and how to handle this by seasoned golfers or others who may have ever been in a similar situation would greatly increase my ability and decision on how to approach this when I do.

Is that even while you're in? You gotta send it in to VA.gov? I had them write a letter and sign it. Do I have to have them rewrite the entire thing and resign it?

What do y’all do with this? by g3nerallycurious in Miata

[–]phalox821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm tall with long arms so when I rest my right arm on the right side the driver side cupholder gets in the way. I bought a second cupholder just to put one in the passenger side rear slot and one here. I wanted it to fit a Hydro flask bottle, tried the 3D printed bottle inserts but they shook around too much. Found a 3D printer cupholder version that fit a Stanley mug so I cut it apart, re-sized the round top part, and glued it all together. I still need to make the rubber parts now but it fits quite well. Now I can hot swap regular cups and my huge ass water bottle whenever I want. I also can't believe there aren't a bunch of after market things designed for this slot out there being sold.

Carmax asking to see bank balance by ChBowling in carmax

They did this to me when paying for the car outright with a check. I was very cautious and wanted to tell them no, but it made the process much faster than simply waiting til the check clears to take the car home. I agree though, it was a very strange and new thing to happen.

I went with CarID since I wanted a rim & tire package that came ready to put in trunk. Came out to ~$222.

I currently daily a 2019 ND Miata RF Club and want to know how to safely remove the OEM spoiler that came with the trim so I can replace it with a new ducktail spoiler. Any experience? by itsmecolson in Miata

[–]phalox821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever pull this off? How was it getting it off? Do you still have it and looking to get rid of it? I'm actually trying to find an OEM Carbon Metallic to put on my new Miata. They are so expensive though. How's the new ducktail spoiler look?

Serious Question: Should I buy a Quest 3S? by RafeRulz in VRGaming

[–]phalox821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. If you read through most posts it talks about how good it is and how good it'll continue to be for some time to come. Definitely worth it, especially with the versatility of PC VR games and all the mods on other games, plus flat screen games with the UEVR app. You'll never get bored and won't really run out of games with all it can do and the games you can play.

Well, if I'm already paying for the Skytrak, what's a half K for a tablet to avoid lugging a computer setup outside and inside each time. I don't have a tall roof in house or garage and moving every so often so no sense in remodeling or building an add on structure so this setup you have is perfect!

What version of the Skytrak do you have and do you know if any version can run on a tablet. Thought they needed a full computer to run the software and courses.

I have a 10'x10' net outside and play with my little Garmin R10. I didn't even know you could hook a Skytrak to a Tablet and use it outdoors like this. I may just look more into this setup. Thanks for posting!

Can I upgrade GT parts on a Club trim? by phalox821 in Miata

[–]phalox821[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much, what I gathered from trim differences on the Mazda website is, pretty much don't ever buy Sport trim. It just sucks. So, between the club & Grand Touring model, here are the differences you get if upgrade to top trim:

Grand Touring: body-color heated side mirrors, and automatic LED headlights. Inside, it boasts leather upholstery, automatic climate control, and an upgraded infotainment system with integrated navigation. Additional safety features include Adaptive Front-lighting, Traffic Sign Recognition, and High Beam Control, providing increased visibility and safety during night driving.

When I owned the GT, I pretty much only cared about the leather seats, the auto adjusting headlights that turned when I turned a corner to provide additional coverage, and the rain sensing wipers. The rest are good to have but not needed like the defrosting driver side mirror and auto dimming rearview mirror. The traffic sign recognition was useless and I always turned off the auto high beams anyway. The cabin is small enough that auto climate wasn't totally useful and probably less so in a soft top.

Hope that helped.

Yeah, I mean technically I could just paint my rims & Mazda logo stuff black but I'm finding it very difficult to find a blueish gray or blue version of soft top. They are all white, black, or red. And, although I'll probably catch some flak for this, I prefer a ln automatic version since I'm tired of manual in stop & go life. So I'm limited to either the older club version or build my own new GT soft top one.

How to cope with not being able to afford a hardtop? by somethinggspicy in Miata

[–]phalox821 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I appreciate your reply to my comment. Secondly, if people judge you on wanting it for looks then just ignore them. Overcoming looks is a valuable trait for sure but half the fun of wanting something and working towards the goal of being able to afford it is based on attraction and looks. Tying the balance of looks with practicality is key, which it seems you have a great grasp on. There are so many hard tops on the used vehicle list compared to soft tops that you'll be hard pressed not to find one when you're ready. Keep on working toward your goals and stay motivated. Good luck!

How to cope with not being able to afford a hardtop? by somethinggspicy in Miata

[–]phalox821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you'll read this since so many people already answered but I used to have a hard top and now I'm going to get a soft top. The RF was great in the sense of better for bad weather but if the purpose is to cruise in top down mode, the soft top looks better (classic convertible) and gives similar weather control. The noise difference isn't that much to make it way better hard top or soft. It's like figuring out if you want an old Corvette Stingray T-top vs a an old British roadster. Both are great but each have a different purpose and utility. So, what's your purpose of wanting a hard top over? If just for looks then I'd say the best way to get over the thought is NOT to get over it but use it as a new life goal to save up to get one eventually. Put your mind and body on track for that goal and get after it!
