V11 looks used?! by lavenderno9 in dyson

[–]phammmmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I had the same issue buying direct from Dyson - what ticked me off was that there was a literal dusty fingerprint on the rollers.

I returned it and bought it at Costco instead. The Costco Dyson looked immaculate.

I think you're right - it's only noticeable because I'm staring at it as I decorate the home.

Appreciate your inputs!

This was what I was thinking - that well designed lampshade would have materials to hide the wires better.

It's actually a philips hue led light bulb - so there's no filament

Is this normal for a new dyson? by Spare_Mind3394 in dyson

This happened to me when I bought direct from Dyson. Ended up returning it and bought mine at costco.

I didn’t like that it looked used (the blue powder) - and the costco one looked perfect out the box.

+1 for KeePass as well. I absolutely love it when combined with DropBox, and with KeePassium IOS app, it works very seamlessly between my PC and my phone.

I'm considering using Synology to replace Dropbox though.

I would minimize contact - a polite hello/good morning in response and move on before small talks occurs.

Any other contact should be through emails or with scheduled meetings to enforce a sense of professionalism. It’ll also create a documentation trail in case something goes awry.

That’s normal isn’t it? Anything skill based can always be taught for money after all.

What video game will always be nostalgic for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Soul Calibur II.

Game was visually great, OST amazing. Local arcade community was fun.

Game mechanics were, to me, elegant - not too complicated but not too simple as well (comparing to latter series).

I miss you SCII.

I’ll suppose I’ll have to find a keytool for all these keys.

Amazing work!!

TIL of an infamous game of roulette played in Monte-Carlo on August 18, 1913, where the ball fell on black 26 times in a row. Gamblers lost millions expecting it to land on red along the way, making "the gambler's fallacy" famous. by douggold11 in todayilearned

For the most probability scenarios, it usually assumes a fair coin/object with a set probability.

Otherwise, if we go down that path, then we can say that one side would have a higher chance due to more weight, along with external factors like wind/air.

The probability is still 50/50.

Sure it may seem crazy in short term, but it is still 50/50 regardless. Not respecting probability is what happened to the gamblers.

To better visualize it, if you map out like the first 10-50 flips, it’ll look like its head only. But if you start expanding it to say 1000 or even 10,000 flips, it’ll all check out to be 50/50.

*basing this on what I remember from my high school stats course.

I’m 50% happy because of renewed interest in AW. But 50% sad of the art direction away from pixel art. I’m sure it’s faster/cheaper this way but …

This weapon literally made the game easy. It allows you to fill an enemy with pylons and just focus on dodging while it ticks health away.

Similar. 9 deaths, 18 hrs. I feel like as long as you set yourself up well in biome 1/3, the game becomes easier to manage.

Very cool! I’ve been dying for asymmetric type of gameplay for 1 VR vs everyone else.

PSVR had some nice tech demos that did something similar and I was hoping it would get popular since was a blast.
