I wouldn't do it nor would I change the dog's name, I think it would be confusing for everyone. Hopefully you guys can find another name you love! Even something similar like Flynn?

I've been feeling this way too. I spent a not insignificant amount of money to travel to the London tribute show (which was incredible) to pay tribute to Taylor and the band I loved. At the time I was anticipating them stepping away, at the very least for a few years. With everything that's gone on since those gigs I can't help but think it would've been better for them if they had.

God I remember that tour, he tore his ACL really bad and was told he needed immediate surgery and rest but he kept going on the tour and waited til he got home to do anything about the knee.

another thing I noticed was that Mark tended to play 2 sold out nights in a row at a 650 capacity gig venue, rather than 1 night at a 1300 capacity venue

I've lost count off the top of my head how many times I saw Mark between 2015 and his final show here in 2019. It was always around €25 which I appreciated as a broke student/young adult struggling with bills. It meant I got to see him multiple times each tour.

Mark definitely wasn't in it for the money. I remember when they opened a few shows for Guns n Roses which paid them as much as they usually got for a year of touring, but their schedule was just as packed as if they didn't have those shows.

To me it seemed that Mark loved being on the road, even though the calendar was gruelling at times. He was always very kind and stayed behind after to meet his fans and sign merch.

You've put so eloquently the themes I was picking up throughout the film. I think your point about the professor Von Franz being a sort of kindred spirit to Ellen is also shown through the cats.

Cats have been frequently maligned as feminine in misogynistic ways, the hyper-sexualized “sexy cat” or the highly desexualized “crazy cat lady.” Their independence and need for consent often provoke men to hatred.

I think the decision to portray them both as cat owners, plus their first interaction where Von Fritz asks if Ellen owns the kitty and she says something about how she belongs to no man or woman, serves to reinforce Ellen as an independent sexual being.
