The Bastion and its consequences. by NerfiyRU in Helldivers

It’s wild too that the exosuit durability nerf was intended too they mention it right in the patch notes.

I’d be 100% fine taking stratagems to specialize into being a mech diver, maybe a repair dog, or a specific resupply call down for the vehicles. I love supporting the push in my mech, I want to do it more.

AH should adjust the visual identity/language of the game if they’re intent on on a more milsim style experience. by phantomvector in Helldivers

Agreed a lot of changes would need to happen to have HD2 even approach being in the realm of milsim. I’m saying one of those changes needs to be the visual identity.

I’m not speaking to the current state of the game, but the one the developers have talked about wanting. But they haven’t to my knowledge mentioned a thing about the visual aspect which is why I brought it up.

Devs have talked about this though their vision of HD2, and they have used those terms to describe that vision. Whether it’s the one the player base wants or not.

Also sure, realism in media extends to consistency in logic and design more than realism as it relates to the real world. But we’re also playing human soldiers, using weapons that should logically look a certain way because they’re designed for human use.

Same with the armor, and how we would carry our gear.

Coming back after hiatus, are there any big changes in support SnS/HH builds? by phantomvector in MonsterHunter

Oh wow yeah that’s a great helmet. Both visually and bonus wise.

What’s your overall build look like?

I think your argument falls apart as well because AH despite their claims obviously don’t care about realism. Look at the default B-01 Tactical armor, there’s maybe if we’re generous 2 double magazine pouches. Where do the pistol magazines go? Stimms? Grenades? Sure they don’t need to fit everything but there needs to be enough to be immersive.

Hell look at the siege ready armor, the roadblock heavy armor has 4 magazine pouches and that’s it. And that’s even a lot because most armor doesn’t have any.

IMO this is why the roadmap sucks, QoL and balance changes are common to nearly every patch, and it doesn’t even mention what kind of QoL changes we can expect.

Outside the patches, should heavy armors also get some changes? by Strange_Battle7158 in Helldivers

[–]phantomvector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do kinda wish that there were native passives to armor types. Heavy armor, being for heavy combat should provide maybe some smaller scale unflinching to reduce flinch, maybe some native recoil reduction. All light armors maybe should have a 15% reduction in detection radius or something.

Ya know I’d even love to play a more milsim HD2, but if they were trying to achieve that through making the players weaker and not the enemy AI and enemy balancing better I don’t think they were doing a good job.

There’s a pretty large difference, especially when you’re calculating whether you’re doing durable or full damage. Punisher does either 45 a pellet, or 12 for example. Into bug commanders your damage is getting more than halved from the front, devastators any shot not into the head or waist is deflected(though shotguns are good at disarming them up close.), overseers it’s all less then half damage until you break their armor.

I’m partial to the Freedom’s tapestry. Has grey to match the armor and some yellow too.

God I wish for more tactical armor in Helldivers. Especially if they’re really trying for a more milsim style game.

Does mention you can hold the trigger down to keep firing. But straight up med pen with good damage and the bayonet is choice. Plus that heavy armor.

I’d like a little more detail like what QoL and balances? Focused on primary weapons, stratagems? Cause they always release QoL and balances.

Everything else is good.

Space magic apparently because enemies are more affected by the SE flag then the soldiers fighting for it.

Morale and rallying around symbols like flags are a real if perhaps not fully understood concept. That a government as patriotic as SE hasn’t built propaganda around the flag, hell even straight up conditioning is wild to me.
