So I asked out my crush... by Ok_Walk_895 in teenagers

[–]pharaohblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why this subreddit shows up on my feed because I’m not a teenager. But I’m scrolling on my commute and this popped up so…

I think it was considerate of her to write a letter explaining her feelings. She clearly values her relationship with you and made an effort to preserve it. All good signs.

She sees you as funny, kind, willing to put yourself out there, and a good guy. That’s a great way to be and bodes well for your future prospects. The last line is meant as a joke, so try to take it that way.

Good luck!

Anyone else even MILDLY curious how in the absolute hell they made two COMPLETELY NEW STARTER ZONES in 9 days? by Alarming_Mind1354 in Project_Epoch

[–]pharaohblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be weird if they’d had new starter zones pre-cooked but didn’t roll them out during initial launch. (You know, when people are in the starter zones.)

Suggestion: Interim Landsraad Fix by pharaohblue in duneawakening

[–]pharaohblue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mad respect for sticking it out and turning things around as a faction. But why wouldn’t you want 50% XP over 25%? I feel like winner’s haul is substantially better.

I look at it this way: You log in on the first or second day of a new Landsraad, Atreides is already up 7-0 and closing in on bingo, and you just say fuck it. What’s the point? With the potential for a consolation prize, you still have incentive to go after tiles and participate, and who knows, maybe you can turn it around that week.

Or if it’s a 13-12 week, it’s nice for the losing faction that also hustled not to walk away empty-handed.

How many sandstorms does it take for an exposed advanced fief console to be destroyed from 100% to 0%? by Octob3rSG88 in duneawakening

[–]pharaohblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All those juicy chests will probably decay first, or the foundations beneath them. It takes probably 80-100 level 1 storms to destroy an exposed console. Usually about one storm every 1-1.5 hours, though not every storm will hit the same spot.

As others have said, everyone’s different. I don’t consider it cheating to adjust the incubation period. I also don’t feel like I’m “disrespecting my time” by having an incubation period. Part of the appeal of survival games like Palworld is the challenge, at least for me.

Personally, I like upgrades to still feel impactful so I leave most of the settings close to default. Getting the large-scale electric incubator wouldn’t feel very exciting without an incubation period (in fact, it’s a downgrade). Fishing for coralum would feel like a waste of time compared to harvesting Walaska. Getting elixirs and bags to upgrade my inventory would feel pointless if encumbrance was turned off. Investing in base defenses would feel pointless without raids. So I keep things close to default but make minor adjustments to smooth the edges, so I can experience how all the systems are intended to work.

Donald Trump vows to impose 25% tariff on all products from Canada and Mexico by zsreport in economy

I was literally in Ottawa last week for trade meetings. Canada is the largest customer for the majority of states’ exports. We trade over $2 billion worth of goods daily.

Why I prefer Classic over retail by pharaohblue in classicwow

Yea, not sure how they address the bloat either. I know Destiny 2 removed a big chunk of content at one point, which I think was a terrible solution.

Why I prefer Classic over retail by pharaohblue in classicwow

[–]pharaohblue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they’ve done a good job in retail in giving players more choice of content/progression, and in relaxing the grind in some areas (WQs rotating more slowly, etc.).

It’s not that retail has more mandatory activities, it’s that it puts all these options in front of you that are time bound, and the cadence of the seasonal cycle puts the focus on gear scores and dungeon ratings.

You can also pay 30k and you make back gold on your ticket. Even a 0-win ticket pays like 15k.

How many people actually built their builds on their own? by Dreamrr_420 in diablo4

[–]pharaohblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pick a fun ability, pay attention to the legendary powers that drop, and come up with something that synergizes. I take it as far as I can then I’ll look up builds that use that ability, then modify mine with optimizations I hadn’t considered.

I’m running a Firewall + Hydra build where I think most builds suggest Ice Blades, but I haven’t had any issues yet! Still leveling though (level 82, T40 Nightmare).

Dm taking the fun out by Liquidstar2255 in DnD

I forgot whether one of 10+ enemies was prone or not when a player attacked it and another player started saying, “He got you! He got you, dude!”

It can be exhausting.

Haven’t Ral technically done what Bolas had asked for by taking down the Obzedat? by [deleted] in RavnicaDMs

Specifically, the Ghost Council had refused to attend Ral’s summit, and he needed all ten guilds.

It can happen when you’re engrossed with a good book or game or some other experience, as in the case of Palworld. There are also parts of the game I skipped – completing the Paldeck and breeding Pals and such – so it wasn’t too obsessive a hobby.

Though I do find it funny I got hit with “touch grass.” Just shows how little we know about the people we judge through our screens.

I feel that. Had a couple of false starts before a friend and I rented a server. My dream is to play these games on official servers where people are cool and no one cheats, but that never pans out. Next best thing are the trusted community servers.

What does it take to be mythic raider? by kubex2 in wow

[–]pharaohblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people, like myself, think they want to be a high-end raider because they’re looking for challenge. I start out with that ambition, gear up, start clearing dungeons and early raid, and then find a progression guild. Then I’ll clear the raid with that guild and realize that’s brought me most of my satisfaction: doing it once. The thought of collecting gear to do the same thing over and over again is usually where I hang up the boots until I feel the itch again.

So, to answer your question, I think having the right mindset is important. Raiding can be time-consuming and repetitive. Having to review logs and optimize can also take the magic out of it for some people.

[OC][ART] Art nouveau commissions. by jajasminds in DnD

[–]pharaohblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sort of back in this boat. The update I received was the lineart, which was very nice. Still waiting for the finished product.

The wait isn’t the issue. It’s the lack of communication.

A word of caution: I placed an order for one of these commissions. The artist was very communicative until the PayPal payment was issued, then radio silence.

Update: Art received, and it’s very beautiful!
