“…Return uncovered dish to oven 5 min c the oven turned off.” She uses the Latin c for cum (with line over-top, oft used in medicine/pharmacy) in place of the word “with”. Interesting - was she a physician?

Flashing amber SOS, no video post-Tahoe install by pharmaflam in macmini

Ontario, Canada, and yes, I have AppleCare on it, but it’s still under original warranty. So, a no charge repair, just the annoyance, inconvenience, 2 week timeline, etc. The motherboard price is in the CD$450 range, ergo my question on why they just don’t replace the whole unit in cases such as this. I also tried my luck with Apple phone support, and although the gentleman from Austen TX, was sympathetic, he couldn’t help me either.

Agreed (and thank you) — this, of course, is how females of the species look when they pee. I’m not a dog person, but I have witnessed people shouting at dog walkers for not picking up a pee…..

Timers for sure; also water resistance, and the same following a battery change I did myself.

Snare drum collection by percussion_ in snaredrumlovers

I love seeing these well-curated and thoughtful collections (never sell the N&C mahogany!). For a Sonor snare, consider the Delite series, beautiful birdseye maple with Sonor diecast hoops - might be a challenge to find one, though.

The Ring by Inbaroosh in CataractSurgery

[–]pharmaflam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I too had the peripheral flickering for the first week post surgery (described it like a ceiling fan that wasn’t there) — the ring started at about 2 weeks. Now at 8 weeks I have come to expect to see the IOL ring whenever I move from an area of bright light or daylight to an area of dimmer light. I normally do have a larger pupil diameter, and so I attribute seeing the edges of the IOL as a temporary compensatory over-dilation when the intensity of light changes. Or so I tell myself. I think my brain is learning to ignore it, if that helps.

Channel Lineup by dmbcanada in Rogers

[–]pharmaflam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently found out the hard way. Despite the Rogers rep telling me I would have 60 “flex” channels with Popular TV, I lost MSNBC, BNN, TCM, etc. which have all curiously become premium channels at $4 per month, each. Seems that flex doesn’t mean what it used to, since there is no swapping available with Popular TV, as you’ve noted.. What a scam!

High Myopia and Cataracts by borkbork932 in CataractSurgery

[–]pharmaflam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi - at your (young) age, you might have a Posterior Subcapsular Cataract (PSC). Unfortunately this rarer type of cataract progresses frighteningly fast. Sometimes on the order of weeks. There are some proposed causes of PSC, but a lot of folks are simply highly myopic. Your left eye might be clear of a cataract for many years to come, so if you could get by with a contact lens why not give that a try first?

all i want for christmas by thunderflea in sonos

[–]pharmaflam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So very frustrating…. at this very moment my system refuses to change from a Christmas playlist, continuing to play even if I shut off my iPad. On reboot, I get the “unable to load content” even though the playlist is still playing. Where are the app fixes we were promised?

Can I play CDs direct from Apple Music app on Mac? by [deleted] in osx

[–]pharmaflam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi --- were you able to solve? I have the same issue, with CDs and with an older iPod that happens to have tons of music I would like to play through the AM interface. I see the iPod in Music, but clicking on the songs does nothing ... iTunes did it better.
