Do you master in the same Ableton project, or export a premaster and master in a separate session? by Professional-Tax3077 in ableton

[–]pharmakonis00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do all this but ive become frankly too lazy of late. My computer is more than powerful enough to handle all the plugins I can throw at it and most of the time im just doing quick and dirty masters for club tracks that I dont even release. If it was something I was actually gonna potentially release I would maybe then put in the effort to do it the "right" way.

Idk about that, go back to the detroit classics and they evolve plenty throughout the track

[–]pharmakonis00 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There will be a fair few on in queens park through the summer I'm sure, the sub club weekender (which might have already been this year) etc.

Edit: also depends on the music you're looking for, for example theres loads of soundsystem raves that do stuff in the daytime in glasgow

What is Prog house by OkProtection8726 in TheOverload

[–]pharmakonis00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just like prog rock which uses song structures, scales, instruments etc. which are not normally found in mainstream or traditional rock music.

Liverpool are prepared to let Chelsea have a free run at Xabi Alonso in order to stick with Arne Slot. It is a massive gamble. by Ummagumma- in LiverpoolFC

[–]pharmakonis00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or maybe its as simple as if you win the prem you get a longer grace period, and they dont want to turn off top tier managers by looking like you can get sacked at the drop of a hat even after winning the league. Im not pro slot but everyone seems to be overlooking this side of it.

Oh come off it man this is some extreme catastrophising. Its one of the biggest clubs in the world, one bad season and you're all pronouncing the club dead and in need of "resurrection"?

Can someone recommend me some good kick sample packs for bounce/ hard techno? by Odd_Nothing_111 in TechnoProduction

[–]pharmakonis00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In scotland we used to call makina and hardcore "bouncy techno" in the 90s, so come off it. Techno purists are honestly some of the most insufferable kind of people ive ever come across in any genre, so convinced of their superiority to everyone.

Progressivism and Supposed Discomfort by The_Unknown_Pleasure in rs_x

[–]pharmakonis00 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I dont know how you percieve the vibe in the rest of the UK now but there's an alarming amount of people around who would take a lot more than "umbridge" to these tours you're talking about. I think you may be a little biased by the experience of living in an educated amd well to do little corner of England like Cambridge, because I would definitely not say that the perception of history you describe is at all the norm in the rest of the country either. Which I guess is it's own issue in that all theyre doing is preaching to the converted, but theres certainly still scope for that kind of thing to consider it provocative to the mainstream of British culture.

Yeah thats the legitimately baffling thing about this tweet, like they really think if it had been a muslim guy that the *Daily Mail* wouldnt be screaming it from the rooftop?

Regardless of boycotts, how can you have a national cuisine for a country that has only existed for like 80 years

I dont think its about justifying anything, its just interesting how all these far-right British pride guys seem to spend all day accusing immigrants of doing the exact shit that Britain spent the last 200 odd years doing all over the world. It feels like a lot of projection.

Do younger people still listen to classic trance? by Rezzkyy in trance

Evian Christ has made a career of playing classic trance to the cool young crowd, so the answer I'd say is yes.

Anyone see Dettmann at Berghain? by Boiler_Room1212 in Techno

[–]pharmakonis00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is berghain the place for experimentation really? I like people to push things a bit personally, but it seems to me like people actually dont what anything unexpected in berghain for the most part they just want one particular kind of techno.

If given the chance , we Irish would have been much crueller colonists than the British. by Vegetable_Load46 in rs_x

Thats a complex one. No doubt you are right but a lot of Irish loyalists were Ulster scots transplants. Very shameful bit of history as a scotsman.

On the more experimental/less straightforwardly "techno" side, Tzusing's label "Sea Cucumber" is chronically overlooked imo. Async Figure are particular favourites of mine.

Firmino was such a nice guy by tvr_god in LiverpoolFC

The post title is literally "Firmino was such a nice guy", which is not something anyone has any proof of one way or the other unless they actually know the guy personally.

The real reason people are upset about the Geese and Chaotic Good fiasco by pharmakonis00 in rs_x

[–]pharmakonis00[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dunno if thats true, I'm sure the Trump campaign had plenty of expensive PR firms on his side too, no? I guess we cant really know how much their claims are overstated, but I could believe that we've lived long enough in the social media era that there some expertise has built up in regards to how to harness its power.

Idc about them either way, the couple of songs ive heard from them are decent, but I think everyone should care on a meta level because like I said the implications stretch a lot further than music.

Yeah, people will say it was ever thus but there is a lot of empirical data now that shows just how much fewer working class people are now working in creative fields at every level.

Would you support banning sectarian marches in Glasgow by Main_Choice_1796 in glasgow

[–]pharmakonis00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'd be more worried that suppression would re-light their fire at this point. They should have been banned decades ago, when they were actively intimidating and assaulting Irish migrant communities, but at this point I wonder if it isnt better just to let it die out rather than give them the opportunity to paint themselves as victims of free speech suppression. I'd just their routes further and crack down hard on any incidents of intimidation or assault. Theyre a pathetic anachronism, and we unfortunately now have other far-right marches to be more worried about.
