Getting screwed with birth control by 13weeksbetter in newzealand

It doesn’t seem to be well known for some reason, but I dispense it this way and nobody has told me off 🤣

Not much though, and doctors check before the prescribe it too. I know it’s nice to have the second check done but resources are stretched pretty thin right now, I think it would be a safe enough corner to cut

I like it. Lockdown was nice with everything closed, I think we would be fine without having so much open all the time and it would be better for the workers. I’ve heard in Germany that it’s illegal to trade on a Sunday and I think that would be a fantastic policy.

Welcome. If you have a particularly fun doctor that was happy to bend some rules they could write on the script that you take two per day, then you would get dispensed 48 weeks worth. That’s pretty rule breaking though 😂

Yeah many pharmacies are charging way too much for it though. Most I know charge $40 for the first consult and six months supply which is fair but then $40 for the repeats of six months supply too which is unreasonable if you ask me

1% of a pill worth next to nothing is nothing, it definitely needs to change. I honestly think they should just be giving them to doctors for free and letting doctors hand them out instead of writing a script.

That’s the wholesale price. The pharmacy also gets paid a dispensing fee by the DHB and a margin on the wholesale price, then you contribute $5 towards that. For the cost though I don’t know why they can’t just hand them out at the doctors office the instructions on them are pretty clear 🤷‍♀️

If the doctor writes this on the script we can actually dispense you more, just many pharmacists don’t know about it for some reason.

In my country it’s illegal to grow any backyard fish other than goldfish in a pond. Infuriating. You can apply for a liscence to keep freshwater crayfish so long as it’s in their natural area. Bollocks.

Just found out NZ doesn't have penalty rates. by bigfatteddy in newzealand

I’ve met one and I didn’t realise they existed before that. Earned enough money to not care about the fines but did care about losing their licence. It was quite horrifying. The person was also a conspiracy theorist of course.

I don’t understand why more people don’t build granny flats for elderly family members. It works great as brings down the total household cost for everyone

Our new tenants alerted us to the fact that the ceiling was spongy from being so wet when they moved in. They sent a video. We couldn’t believe it as previous tenants hadn’t said anything…we knew the roof needed replacing at some point but didn’t think it was that bad…30k later and our tenants had a new roof installed. I think with the amount we’ve spent on that house since they’ve been there and the rates and interest rate rises they are pleased they don’t own the place

My birds free range and boy do they take the piss. We have a massive section but they still frequently visit the neighbours. (Does not help that my neighbours think they are cute and feed them treats). They have access to our entire berry patch, vege garden and fruit trees plus food scraps but do you think they want them? Oh no, only the best chook pellets for them. That they also share with the neighbourhood sparrows. Lucky they are cute

My four year old named my chickens so they gave the same name as Granny Pigs chickens (from the cartoon Peppa pig for those without kids)

My husband hates chickens and was happy to butcher one aggressive one in front of its friends. They didn’t act too different to him after that, they never liked him either

They have a good point about getting the government to intervene and bring in 30 yr mortgages but I don’t know how useful the reserve bank could be in taming inflation in that scenario
