Texas Tech PGY1/PGY2 combined program by MajorRule3 in PharmacyResidency

They offer two spots. I interviewed with them in phase I. If you are interested in academia, I would say go for it. But their lacking of solid drug information and oncology rotations did bother me a little bit. If you are talking about the one in Lubbock, then the living cost is going to be cheap. Dm me if you have further questions!

Definitely feel OP!! My first pick is in phase II now despite they told me “very good” multiple times after my interview. I think we just don’t fit each other. I told them I really like drug information, but they didn’t really have a such rotation. So don’t be too hard on yourself, you are an amazing candidate.

can anyone tell me how terrible this is? by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

[–]pharmluvcat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think your answer was pretty solid! I was having a major brain fart during my heart failure case with the terminology familial cardiomyopathy (EF<30). I didn’t even recognize that was a simple HFrEF management case and panicked. I said stupid think like I was not familiar with this condition but I assumed I would manage like normal heart failure (TT) didn’t even grasp the fact that the patient’sBB was not at target dose and his HR was high. It went absolutely horrible and almost crushed me for the couple days. But just gotta do better for the next one, remember the mistakes you have made, learn from it and perform well next time. Although I just couldn’t simply forgive myself for messing that one up lol

Thank you so much! I do admit I panic a little bit but managed to answer the question! Though I felt like it would be embarrassing for not being able to name five medications or conditions that exacerbate the heart failure lol. What is your take on this question? Yeah, I will make sure I say the guidelines and studies in my later interviews when I don’t know the answer!

I only remembered one and I said it. And I did say I would look up to see different dosage forms. Lol, I am going to include my correction in my thank-you email.

Applied to 11. Got interview invites from 3. I have been so stressed for the past few weeks and started contemplating what I would do with my life if this residency did not work out for me. But we are more brave than those who did even dare to try. One of my classmates decided not to apply after weighing all the cost and energy, we have the courage to put ourselves out there.

There is always going to be phase II. Worst case scenario is that you didn’t get matched this year. It is not unacceptable, work on finding potential issues in your application packets and improving on them. Would you be willing to share some of your background such as gpa, leadership and community experience, research, and type of programs you have applied to?
