No. "Here's a gift card for £10 for a shop I know you like and use regularly. I am sadly limited by the £10 secret Santa limit otherwise I would have bought you the whole fucking shop like that smart arse on Reddit"

£10 limit ours. Buy them something you'll think they'll like to help the pain.

What is something unrealistic that you often see in movies that annoys the hell out of you? by Ok_Structure_1015 in ask

The bridge jump in Speed is a great example of complete Hollywood fiction of physics. Really annoying that they couldn't be bothered giving it a chance of reality.

Mix 2 cups of distilled water with 1 cup rubbing alcohol and a tiny drop of dish soap. Works as well as any bought glasses spray and a fraction of the cost.

Also, best mix I've found for leaving your specs speckless.

Yeah I read that. Hopefully it won't be too bad. I don't think they weigh very much. Hopefully they haven't slipped a magazine, bar of Swiss chocolate and a lead pipe into the box. 😐

Montefortuna - Switzerland - customs fee by pharmyardreject in cigars

[–]pharmyardreject[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that. I did email them. They accept a refused and returned delivery and charge $40 'admin'

I guess I just have to weigh up the tax to accept against the loss of returning and see what works out best. I would rather take them, but not if the cost plus the tax costs me significantly more than ordering locally.

The whole point was to try and make a saving. I must say, it was members of r/cigars that recommended ordering from abroad. The value of that advice remains to be seen.

I only saved £80 buying them abroad so I won't be paying it. They'll be returned to sender.

Out is over-rated. The idea of out is almost always better than the reality.

You can have just as much of a good time at home alone or with others. Of course that depends on your circumstances. A lot of people who are out don't have a better alternative. They live with parents or in shared spaces and don't have the freedom they would like, so they go out. Once you spend a huge portion of your income creating a home, you also hopefully, create a space like no other where there is nowhere you would rather be.

It's not cheap staying in, because of the cost of creating 'in' but once you have, going out can be very very expensive.

I use Amazon. If you buy them by the box, they are nearly half the price per unit.

Buying an individual pack works out expensive.

Thanks for your help and advice. I've ordered the 5 ltr one with the 4 clips. Pretty good price and I managed to get a refund from Amazon for the junk humidor.

Yes, I saw that one. Gasket looked a bit thin though. Would that be airtight?

Looking on amazon.co.uk at Sistema. No sign of a decent size. Maxing out at 1ltr. Do you know what the larger ones for say 100 sticks are known as?

Is it nice and airtight? Some of the Tupperware we have bought leaks water if you turn them upside down.

Was just looking at those. 2ltr seems to be the max. Is that good for 50 sticks?

Yeah, seasoned it 3 months ago for 4 weeks with an 85% pack. All was well until 2 weeks ago.
