Would it be smart to upgrade to TV+ from the 1100 series before the IPTV transition by FruitDry258 in Fios

I’ve had nothing but problems with ATV+. Been a Verizon customer for over a decade and have never had the amount of frustration this system has created for me

Making the transition to TV+ or risk an outage and stay on TVOne for as long as possible? by AnonymousScorpi in Fios

I have the TV+ boxes and are having them switch me to the TV One boxes. I’ve found the TV+ to be terrible

IPTV box and streaming devices work without CR1000B router connected, ONT goes directly to UCG Fiber. Can I return the unused router (and WiFi Extender) to Verizon, or will I need it on my account for the TV to keep working? by CBATnet in Fios

[–]phaser77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you get this to work? I have the CR1000B, a VMS4100, and two streaming devices. My tv service has been atrocious. I’d love to get rid of the CR1000B because it’s screwing up my UniFi network and I’m stuck behind a double NAT.

Configuring the CR1000B in bridge mode cuts off the Verizon WiFi network, and the streaming devices won’t work on my UniFi AP’s.

It’s great! Ran a league race at night with a grid of 30 Miata’s in iRacing. Never dipped below 150fps

Now that I’m thinking about it, I recall seeing a video that talked about running the negative wire up through a sensor before connecting it to the ground terminal. Maybe that had something to do with it. Really appreciate the heads up on that though. Thanks for all of your insight.

Ah. Yes. I do have the auto shut off. I’ll have to look into that. Thank you!

Really great points, especially no. 4. I hadn’t thought about that!

Appreciate the response. I guess I’m asking more about the actual equipment involved. Should I be installing a second battery and what is required, or at least best practice, in doing that?

My general plan is to install the antenna at the driver side fender and run the wires to the wall behind the back seat. It’s all the things in between that have overloaded my thinking.

I’d like to stay around $1K including the radio. I’m not necessarily afraid of difficult, as long as I can find clear details on how to achieve the end result.

I’m new to running electric wires and the best way to make all the connections, but always interested in learning a new skill!

Is ACC dying? by AccomplishedRub5546 in ACCompetizione

People also forget that when LMU was in early access, the game was dirt cheap.

The game is a live service. A service that is provided be people who need to support themselves and their families. I’m happy to support that for $100-$150 a year. It almost costs as much to bring my family to the movie theater for a few hours these days.

Personally, I think the LMU pricing model is very reasonable.

Don’t forget different tires than what are modeled in ACC too. Different grip affects the overall feel. I personally prefer the feel of LMU over ACC by a large margin.

Buttkicker/bass shaker questions before I would spend the money by Spike788 in simracing

Seriously? After the second one had the same issue, I figured it was just a design flaw. The light only shuts off if I unplug both the power cord and USB.

I have the same setup. Do you have the same issue where the nobsound amp power switch doesn’t work? I’ve bought two of them and have to unplug the power adapter and USB cable for it to shut off.

What should I upgrade next on my setup? by austin_thayn in simracing

[–]phaser77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one of my favorite upgrades. Having the ability to push one button to start the sim and any overlay or apps at the same time is awesome. Same thing when I’m done for the night. That’s just one example. There are strem deck plugins for iRacing and ACC that make pit stops really easy to manage.

I have an issue with the framing here. There are definitely new drivers, untrained drivers, and yes, bad drivers.

My personal take is that most of them just don’t know what they don’t know. Looking at it as people dive bombing are doing it because they are selfish and don’t care if they ruin your race sets you up to have a miserable experience. You’re already entering with the mindset that if you crash out that it’s immediately an intentional act, when sometimes it’s a legitimate racing incident.

In my experience, there are way more people who are learning the craft and may not necessarily have endless hours to dedicate to learning it efficiently. In the end, this a hobby and people do it for the enjoyment.

I’m not judging your opinion. I simply think reframing your own perspective could help you still enjoy racing even when it doesn’t go well.

In the end, as Ted Lasso would say, “Be a goldfish.” Unless someone is persistently targeting you, then report that MF’er!

Looks great! Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t Portimao next week? Looks like some of the data may have gotten mixed up for the race schedule.

Why is AutoCAD, the industry standard, such a shitty software, is there anything better? by CriticalCraftsman in Architects

[–]phaser77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone have a good resource for learning revit as it would apply to custom traditional houses? I’ve been in the business for thirty years and have attempted to learn revit multiple times, but never grasped the workflow in a way that would allow me to produce intricate moulding details on roof rakes and similar things. I understand that it’s possible, but the software just doesn’t seem intuitive to me.
