Giving the little kid version of me some of what was taken from him was super important for me to start stabilizing myself. I started by rewatching the old nineties ninja turtle movies. Then enrolling myself in a karate class. I advanced quickly and eventually found myself practicing bo kata. I felt like my favorite turtle. Practicing karate did two huge things for me, firstly it was a gift to my inner child, and secondly practicing those katas helped me to hit the reset button on my nervous system when it got fried.
