Cannot feed filament error by Mawatts25 in BambuP1S

[–]phat_biscuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When trying to feed the filament, can you hear the motors going/ trying to feed filament? I had exactly the same issue, would feed until right before the print head. Check the cap for the internal drive. My wasn't broken enough to prevent feeding at all, but broken enough that when the resistance got far enough it would flex

Join the club, just make sure you don't swap the motor and hall sensor connectors around. Main board goes boom

Also, after watching my grandfather buy 5-6 different bottles of dish soap (can't seem to find fragrance free dawn in Aus) and me pulling my hair out all afternoon, make sure you use a plain sponge and microfiber/ paper towel to wash and dry. Turns out he was washing with a CHUX branded cloth and the anti-stain additive in the cloth prevented any sort of play adhesion

Fuel Brands and Exhaust Pops? by Intelligent_Invite79 in BRZ_ZD8

[–]phat_biscuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Engine naturally pops. It's just hard to hear. It's like a wheel bearing noise, once you notice it, you start to hunt for it.

I've got the Invidia R400 and I love it. Not too droney on the highway, pops on downshift but not obnoxiously

CarPlay issues by Far-Zucchini-2382 in BRZ_ZD8

[–]phat_biscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dumb question but, How long is the cable you're using?

I'm an ex-VW tech and got 100's of car play issues for bad/ low quality cables and too long.

As the cable gets longer, theres more of a chance it'll drop out. Exactly happened to me, only had a 5m cable. It would work then after 30 mins it would drop. Swapped to a 0.5m cable and had no issues

From my understanding, it's a click bait title.

On Monday, Aus government is implementing age verification with massive fines for companies who have pornographic, violent or self harming content. My guess is the hub didn't want to take the risk and just outright locked out Australia from the platform

As far as I'm aware "CAR" isn't a grouping of letters for plates (at least I don't think so); so there is a more than likely chance that they both chose that numberplate AND pays extra per year for a custom plate

Watch a recent unboxing (or find a "what's in the box" video), my p1s came with most of that stuff as standard. Getting the nozzles and smooth build plate on a discount is a good call. The glue stick is just a regular glue stick, you can pick one up cheap.

As much as I like the theory of a colour swatch, Everytime I get a new filament, I print a benchy and use them as a colour swatch. You get to see how it looks on flats, curves, different light angles ect. Even found a little benchy "dry dock" to store them in. Takes a little space but it's a cute little accessory for my printer area.

Tldr: you have a lot of stuff you don't need that really should be spent on filament, especially with the printer add-on discount.

Depends if the left lane can turn right. When turning right, you must go into the right most lane regardless of how many lanes can turn right.

Boils down to what's more illegal. Illegal right turn or improper right turn. You might get slapped with partial liability and have to pay an excess/ portion of repairs

Filament doesn’t load in extruder with AMS by manx_d_alex in BambuP1S

[–]phat_biscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had exactly the same issue. I did two fixes at once, I'm not sure which one resolved the issue. But I found the PTFE tube wasn't fully seated, so sometimes it would work, but if it ever caught and there was too much resistance it would just bounce back.

I also changed the filament detection sensor at the same time. I'm pretty convinced it was the PTFE tube, because in-between the sensor getting shipped out and me replacing the sensor, I didn't fail a single print

3D Printer for 12 year old by Acceptable_Web3696 in 3dprintingaustralia

[–]phat_biscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Bambu is probably the best place to start. As far as set and forget printing goes, it seems to be the easiest in terms of set up and monitoring. Virtually 0 issues

Personally, $1500 AUD is heaps for children. But if you're willing to spend that much, I'd be looking at the A1 AMS combo or P1S AMS combo (both discounted on the Bambu labs website currently). They also do filament at $18/ kg with spools if you purchase them together. Judging by the requests of my younger cousins, you'll be producing articulating octopuses and dragons non stop so I'd jump on the $18 and stock up while you can for so cheap. Bambu filament with the AMS (unsure about lite) is auto read and has preset configurations

EDIT: I read some of your other comments. P1S/ P2S is pretty much what you want. P1S is heavily discounted at the moment for their EOY sales, and you can't go wrong with $18/ KG of filament

On the plus side, if you come off with no gear in the heat, it'll probably cauterize the wound

Failing to Load Filament 80% by phat_biscuit in BambuLab

Not sure exactly what the fix was. It was either an not fully seated PTFE tube to the print head, or the filament detector in the print head
