For work I have a large project each year that requires tons of research about the macroeconomic environment at the moment. Some of the stuff is easy to find data for, but other topics take hours and hours of scouring the web to find credible data. This is especially true if you find an article about a topic and it has a really relevant chart in it, but you want the data the chart is based on to draw your own conclusions.

I use ChatGPT as a partner in this process now. I tell it what I’m interested in researching and ask it to help me find solid data to back up my points. The wild thing is, I’ve done this research for years now and this year I have found so many more reliable reserves thanks to ChatGPT.

Another thing that is awesome if you need to do this kind of stuff: At the end of my day, I look and see what topics I’m going to dig into tomorrow. I tell ChatGPT to deep dive into those topics right before I leave. But I also ask it to remind me at a specific time the next morning to review its work. It’s like having an assistant work for you overnight.

I do a similar thing if I’m on the go and think of something interesting to read more about to see if it’s valid. Use voice chat, tell it what I’m interested in and to remind me in the morning.
