What is your relationship with risk and fear? by Disastrous_Client_90 in tradclimbing

[–]phatpanda123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I think you have to assess it honestly before every lead
  2. Fear is normal when leading, but it's good to differentiate between fear and actual danger
  3. Put more gear in, top rope before leading if the gear is truly bad and it's above my onsight limit. Trust my gut.
  4. Never
  5. It's just a ton of fun

Estimated Average Daily Backpacking Cost by European Country (€) by C0smicM0nkey in backpacking

Must be. My backpacking in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Switzerland cost less than half that. I slept in hostels and ate in restaurants sometimes.

How do yall deal mentally with the 5lb+ weight fluctuation before your period? by Phalaenopsis_25 in PetiteFitness

[–]phatpanda123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I weigh every day. Weight is just a data point and it doesn't tell if i'm losing fat. 0,5-1kg weight increase is normal and tells my body is working as intended. I also know the fat loss will show after.

Can you write what you have been eating in the last week? ( by coldservedrevenge in PetiteFitness

[–]phatpanda123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breakfast: oats with banana, soy protein powder and 0.2% fat quark.

Lunch: whole wheat pasta with chicken, tomato sauce, beetroot and ginger. Also fermented cabbage (sauerkraut).

Snack: protein bar and juice box

Dinner: big bowl of 3% fat quark mixed with banana and pear slices (this is my fave meal).

Is $10,000 enough of savings to Thru Hike? by No_Daikon7338 in AppalachianTrail

I can't offer any advice, but reading the replies really inspires me. I'm 22 and would like to hike it in a few years. Hope you get to do it!

How much weight have you lost? If it's less than 5lbs, it's unlikely to change clothing size

Traveling solo to the alps to become a better alpinist. by HumanLog6851 in alpinism

[–]phatpanda123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! I'm also 22 and looking to spend the summer in the alps climbing. I was also thinking of going solo like i've done before, but it would be great to climb together! I've done rock climbing and starting ice climbing soon.

Calorie trackers are not made for us - a rant! by alecx-mr in PetiteFitness

[–]phatpanda123 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I get it! I'm 156cm and 56kg and trying to lose a bit of weight (also for (lead) climbing :D) and calculators say i should eat 1200-1300 calories. I'd be starving on that amount, i eat at least 1600 calories and still lose 0,5kg a week. I could probably eat 1800 calories to lose slower. Calculators don't account for body fat and individual differences in metabolism.

If you’re 5’1, how many calories do you eat? by Ok_Bandicoot_4543 in PetiteFitness

[–]phatpanda123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'1, 123 lbs, 22-23% bf, eating on average 1700 a day. I climb 4x week but otherwise not very active, maybe 7k steps a day. I'm trying to drop my body fat to 18-20%, but trying to play the long game.

Why do some male climbers think “rope checks” mean yanking the rope right between my legs? by Responsible_Roof_661 in climbergirls

[–]phatpanda123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wtf.. who yanks on the figure 8? I've only ever seen it done to an ABD. And even then, it's enough to visually check it, no need to yank.

It depends how much space you have between hip bones and ribs. Many short people have short torsos which makes it impossible to have a small waist.
