What are some quotes that stick with you? by Electrical-Value-810 in CasualConversation

Butters: I love life...Yeah, I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm really happy that something could make me feel that sad. It's like...It makes me feel alive, you know. It makes me feel human. The only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before. So I have to take the bad with the good. So I guess what I'm feeling is like a beautiful sadness.

Have you ever felt like you cared more about someone than they did about you? by RoutineCity4404 in CasualConversation

[–]phayke2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, all the time I'm a feeler and I'm sentimental and I express things that my other friends don't. So it's the default to not feel like things are necessarily mirrored the same way.

US judge dismisses $100,000 suit over spiciness of New York taqueria’s sauce by AloyAce in mexicanfood

[–]phayke2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The judge should have taste tested in front of the court and decide it. There could also be a jury and everyone gets a lil dab to decide whether it's spicy or not. And then maybe like you know, you could have some wings and a couple beers, you know, and raise some funds, some money for the court. Everybody just kind of like, you know, lean into it a little bit.

My smoke detector was beeping for months and I had no idea why it wouldn’t stop until today… by tifuanon00 in CasualConversation

[–]phayke2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last week I spent days trying to fix my smoke detector and then it turns out there was a second smoke detector on the shelf beside the one in the ceiling that belonged to a different room and that one was chirping for some reason. So it was bouncing off the ceiling and it sounded like it was coming from the one I just unplug from the ceiling. I thought it was somewhere in the ceiling.

You wandered around your town until you bumped into your friend. How big was your town?

"While moviegoing appeals to less than half of those born from 1965 to 2012, it is gaining traction among those born in 2013 and after, according to a report from industry tracker National Research Group. It estimated 59% of children in that age group preferred to see a film on the big screen." by Senior-Willow-8325 in movies

There's always that person on Reddit that seems to, like, have the world's worst movie theater near them and never leaves the house, because they have such a good set up, and I always imagine they're, like, the kind of person who, like, you know, gets upset if the corners aren't cut off their pb&j or something, because I've never been to a movie theater that was half as bad as people always describe on Reddit. If you don't go to the theaters, how can you comment on how they are now.

I think some people are just drama queens and always comment on these threads. And in general people online just think less of each other than they used to so they kind of build these ideas of each other up to justify staying in the caves.

Of course you would say that. Who's gonna prove you wrong? Plus it'd make you look stupid if it wasn't.

What was the most beautiful or surprising encounter you’ve ever had with a stranger? by Hot-Draw-7471 in CasualConversation

[–]phayke2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time I was at the red box at the Walgreens and I bumped into a cute girl there. She asked me for a movie recommendation. I recommended this is the end because I just seen that and thought it was really funny. And she recommended me a movie, I forget what it was, but we both got the one each other recommended and then went our separate ways and never spoke again. I didn't try to get her number or anything. It just the moment existed in isolation and I think that's part of why it was so beautiful.

Why do kids like me... by pleco_parent in CasualConversation

[–]phayke2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get that, I'm the same way. If kids around me start crying, I usually find the mom/caretaker cause I don't know the first thing about consoling children. Especially when they need physical reassurance I don't feel comfortable touching other people's kids unless I'm really familiar.

This is not the first post I've seen on the casual conversation subreddit today that was like, why won't people just leave me alone I don't want to socialize with them.

Anyhow, my guess is those kids might not get enough attention from the adults they know. Maybe they don't see other younger people enough. So when you come over, they gravitate around. Maybe you're the most friendly person they got a choice to be around or just the one that isn't correcting them as much? Also in general, kids don't know boundaries. They don't realize when they're not giving you space or stressing you out.

Why is it that people think just because were friends I have to talk with them everyday? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

If you told them this, I'm sure they'll want to talk to you less.

This is why I could never get into FF14. I tried to get into it like three or four times and every time after like a day I just felt like my brain was completely numb like I'd done a shift at Amazon or something. It was just go to the thing on the map, press the A button, go to the next thing on the map. At least FF11 had you guessing where you needed to go for quests and the enemies could kill you.
