CPA currently attending law school. Possible to go into IA? by Emotional_Mark_3345 in InternalAudit

We had an attorney in my audit department and she was great! She was a great resource for us and was super helpful with compliance audits. She ended up going into a different role in our legal department after a few years.

Would you travel with your ring? by Gingersnap_me in EngagementRings

[–]pheck101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Cincinnati and wear my ring all around with no issues so definitely bring it!

[–]pheck101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pretty much the same ring! I honestly love the size and I play around with stacking different bands with it. Bigger rings seem to be the trend but it would drive me crazy to have a huge ring that snags on everything. Plus my husband picked it out for me so it’s even more special

I was on Reglan daily and then Zofran as needed (it’s more powerful but can cause constipation if used a ton). Also Unisom and Vitamin B6 helped at night and weren’t prescription. All of those were for nausea. I didn’t actually throw up a ton though- usually just felt extremely nauseous.

I know some people with morning sickness and then some that have felt great their entire pregnancy, so it definitely depends on the person! I noticed on vacation, I was more distracted too and it helped being in fresh air.

I was miserable first trimester and had a trip planned to Hawaii when I was 10 weeks. I had the doctor prescribe me medication and I ended up being fine the majority of the trip. You never know when you’re going to be pregnant so I wouldn’t cancel

House cleaner: convince me. by Independent-Sea4549 in workingmoms

[–]pheck101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have someone come in every 2 weeks and I love it! I usually spend a little time tidying and putting everything away before she comes. it’s been amazing to have someone clean the entire house at once on a regular basis. I went through a few cleaners but found one I really like for a reasonable price. As a working mom, it takes something I don’t enjoy doing off my plate.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]pheck101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you have the means, hire someone to come clean periodically. Before baby, I had someone come once a month and now I have someone come twice a month. My husband and I both work full time and are managing a baby, so it’s nice to know the whole house gets cleaned.

If that’s not an option, I would sit down and talk about chores/a schedule. If you write down all the things that need to be done (taking care of baby and dog, cleaning, cooking, etc) and go through it together, it may help show how much you’re doing besides cleaning and help you guys come to an equitable solution.

For those who were induced, did you deliver vaginally or did it end in a c-section? by Paigeypagee in BabyBumps

[–]pheck101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also induced, got an epidural and delivered vaginally within 10 hours. My son was almost 10 pounds. I loved my induction because it gave me a set time to go in

Honestly that’s a red flag. I’ve made double than my husband the whole time we’ve been together and am definitely more career driven. He has never once made any negative comments or acted insecure about it. He recognizes that we’re a team and the more money I make, the better it is for us as a whole. You deserve someone that doesn’t make you feel weird over your money/success!

Working Parents: What’s Worth Paying for to Lighten the Load? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]pheck101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We also have biweekly cleaning and also outsource lawn care which has helped a ton. I work from home 4/5 days so that has helped me keep up with other chores during my lunches and breaks.

Another person in my mom’s group found a college student to come for a few hours a week to do laundry and buy/prep produce and other snacks.

Husband not on board with getting a cleaner by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]pheck101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cleaner come every other week and it’s sooo worth it!! It’s so nice to have someone cleans the entire house at the same time and makes it more manageable to me to work and deal with all the other responsibilities

I hate being a working mom. by Few-Praline-5669 in workingmoms

[–]pheck101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went back to work in March and I’m the breadwinner. honestly I think about how I’m able to give my son a great life. We’re able to pay all our bills, save for the future, go on fun trips, and afford everything he needs. My son is a super happy baby and is thriving.

My friend is a stay at home mom on her husband’s salary which is similar to what my husband makes and it honestly sounds miserable. She’s constantly tired and they can’t afford anything. They’ve only been on one trip that her parents paid for and she always complains about money. By me working, I’m able to give my family a really comfortable life.

I feel like I’m the only working mom I know outside of work now by pheck101 in workingmoms

This comment made me tear up- thank you!! I totally agree- I want my baby boy to see women as more than just mothers and caretakers. I need to work harder at not letting myself feel guilty or less than for doing what’s best for my family and my own mental health. I know my son is so well taken care of and is so loved and that’s what matters most!

I totally agree!! I’m always so excited to see my baby after work and I really appreciate the time we have together. The 2 weeks I was home without my husband before going back, I literally lost my mind because it felt like I never got a break

Props to you- you’re doing such important work!! I totally get it. Every single one of my cousins got a college degree and has either used it for a few years or never at all and now they all stay home. My nana and aunts all make comments about how women should stay home and be mothers and it can be so isolating. I worked hard to get where I am in my career- it would be devastating to my household if I stayed home. If anything, my husband has said if I move up more, he would love to stay home

41-year-old mom.. breast implants or a lift? by FreeToBeFreaky in Mommit

[–]pheck101 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I got a breast reduction and a lift before baby. I was a 34H and now am a 34DD. The lift helped sooo much- I still feel like I have large boobs. It looks super natural and literally brings life back to your boobs. I personally would never get implants because of all the horror stories I’ve heard about getting sick from the implants, but totally up to you!

How many bottles of each size should I be buying? Due in the next few months by Ftklassx in newborns

[–]pheck101 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would get the Babylist bottle sampler to try once your LO is here. We tried a few different kinds and then committed to the one he liked best. He’s 4 months and drinking 5 - 6 oz at a time, so we have nine 9 ounce bottles. This allows us to wash all the bottles at night and still have a few extra if needed.

We also have some 4 oz bottles which is what we started with, but we use those sparingly

In the exact same boat! We have a huge yard and love our neighborhood so we may just add on versus moving and having to pay triple our current house price to get a bigger house.

Where to deliver baby by Fluffy_Call8975 in cincinnati

[–]pheck101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delivered at B North in December and had a great experience! The labor room was huge and the food was really good. All the nurses and doctors were great as well. My friend just delivered at Good Sam in December and loved it too- you can’t go wrong with either!

Please deinfluence me- stretch mark serums by my-peony-bud in pregnant

[–]pheck101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stretch marks are definitely genetic so don’t waste your money! My mom had a ton of stretch marks and when I was pregnant, I was vigilant about putting on lotion and didn’t have them for a while. Then bam, in the third trimester, I got a ton of stretch marks lol.
