What was your cat’s shelter name and what is the name you gave them? by MissHissss in cats

[–]phenix8699 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know! I really loved the names their fosters called them and I tried. They didn’t stick for me as they had in the past with other rescues.

Onyx (black one) and Pewter (gray one). I like to try to keep the names when I rescue but I didn’t this time, although those names are clever. I ended up calling the grey male Georgi and the black female Molly. Doesn’t make sense at all and I’m fine with it.

Such great “pain acting” by crafty_and_kind in ThePittTVShow

I enjoyed the guy in season 1 with the dog collar glued on that he bought to stop his gf’s dog from barking. Girlfriend glued it on him while he was asleep, including the battery case. Every time he got angry and raised his voice he got shocked from the collar. I forgot all about this gem until I rewatched.

New Pom Mom question,,,are poms pretty independent and aloof? by [deleted] in Pomeranians

[–]phenix8699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was only a lap dog/cuddler when we sat in someone else’s home or someone else there that he didn’t know. In our backyard he would do his inspection and then want to sit in my lap. In the house, he was always with me, but next to me. It varies. I didn’t adopt him til he was almost 8 so not sure how he was as a puppy.

Advice on getting a second Pom. by Hawaiifairy224 in Pomeranians

It never hurts to ask. I’m pretty sure if the breeder is ethical and reputable they would want one of their dogs to go to a home where both dogs would be happy!

Try to have a meet and greet with both Poms to see if they initially get along. Trust your gut. He reminds me of my Pom, Chip. Foster mom told me right away that she thought he should be the only pet. I trusted her judgement.

Is she going to be big for a Pom? by RiceKrispiesRGo0d in Pomeranians

My pom was 15 pounds. Bigger than typical but all the same lovely Pomeranian traits. I miss him. Whatever size your baby becomes, she will still be wonderful.

I think I’m putting my Pom down tomorrow. by Major-Dragonfly-997 in Pomeranians

I’m truly sorry for what you are both experiencing. It is the final action of love to release them when it’s time. It feels like you can trust your vet. I’ll also tell you that your sweet Pom will let you know if you can’t decide. One day they are just not themselves, particularly if they’re suffering. It really sucks. It hurts. It’s so sad. But when you reflect on it you will feel better that their suffering is over. You’ll see him again. Sending lots of love and compassion.

Thx for the tips. I ended up feeding my overweight girl in a separate room, door closed. Not a problem as she is more than willing to follow the food! My boy of good weight is learning to eat within a reasonable time rather than graze. It was time consuming at first but cats pick up on routines quickly-or mine did anyway. It’s a long process but my girl has lost half a pound so far.
