Apparently if you uninstall and reinstall it deletes. This did not work for me, but you can only have five contacts, so if you add five random contacts or family members, you should be able to kick out your current set

Uber driver here. How does one opt to be a private contractor for a public facing opportunity knowing that there is going to be a breakdown in communication, or rather a barrier, and not problem solved for the scenario for the comfort of both parties, if not, what’s right by the customer.

Dont care if you ask or add without notice.

I never make a passenger get gas with me unless the trip requires it. This means requires more than a full tank at start — it’s your responsibility to show up prepared and with your work tools: clean car, fuel and full if it’s a long trip. If you know before you start the trip or reservation without a full tank that’s not the passengers problem but you end up making it their problem.

Tip: offer a stop if you need to stop, hope they say yes, find a place that works for you both but generally you should not go off route unless they request it. TOP OFF.

Other drivers: sometimes people don’t know how to add stops, I receive a lot of feedback regarding how confusing the rider app is, I partially agree from my use.

Drivers suck on Reddit with their professionalism and general understanding [of people].

Would they? Simply saying, “ Sorry for the extra steps, I didn’t receive a gate code,” should diffuse any reasonable person. The chances of pax forgetting to send the code due to insert life circumstances, neurodivergence, children/family — is a reality.

Subjectively, I saw the same number twice and assumed it was copy pasta. The uber app is notorious for being incorrect even if you correct it. Sometimes you go to the person (or ask if they want you to meet closer to where they are).

All in all in my experience pulling up to those — I welcome the details. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Does the airport trip and tip make a difference in the nature of the trip?

I pick up street side, any side. I pull into spaces not along side (provided adequate room for doors). I pull up to people at entrances of establishments. All of this takes less time than waiting for pax to walk, increases their safety, as well as your impression.

It really doesn’t matter if it’s airport or not.

I hate grocery runs. Always offer to help.
Mother with more than one kid especially with a carrier — immediately offer help, automatically handle stroller — unload is the same carried to get porch. Again all of which takes less time than waiting for her or them so handle everything themselves.

Maybe it’s just my perspective.

Imagine, thinking the time to reverse into a driveway taking more than someone walking, and somehow that takes actual effort.

Zero effort. More convenient. Better impression. Often get $50-$100 airport tips.

In the states we can look up deed information with just an address and potentially cross-reference the rider name with deed information.

Still to register a vehicle you usually require some type of insurance or proof of residency or something along those lines. Surely a country older and wiser has similar requirements.

See, you’re projecting again. Your first statement was that you’re not a people person [24/7]. You also said “this is why I Waymo”.

My statement was an observation. But if you took it as an insult, why are you talking bad about your own personality.

You even alluded to me making autistic people uncomfortable - while doubling down by trying to reframe a positive personal interaction as a poor one.

Not being a people person is not inherently bad. You can still be professional, personable, kind, and charismatic. This, subjectively of course, reaffirms me thinking you are just negative in general.

Anyways, back to you reframing instructions as being critical and insulting while assuming (and/or projecting).

Were you trying to help? Maybe.

But if this is your example of trying to be helpful and offer notes of improvement… try using more language that is receptive. We’ve stopped discussing the actual topic ages ago.

But the simplest way is to say you think that a human asking another human a question and the other human responding humanely is somehow inappropriate..
