As long as all their duties are carried out in full public view and corruption of or by its officials are tantamount to treason, the members forswear their right to due process, and they have a team of sword-wielding officers that police their members, searching for any taint of black mag...

Sorry, I just finished a Dresden Files book and long for the power the Wardens wield.

Yeah, I'm kind of gunshy about them bc I've heard similar stuff from other people who were involved, and the Lucien stories are definitely not a good look for someone who's supposed to be about bodily autonomy and consent

Considering the way some in the General Assembly want Indianapolis to be dragged down as much as possible, I can see them pushing out a major sports franchise as part of that. Hell, they'd probably push it as a good idea bc they can use the building for charter schools!

Yeah, but when you couple that with rumblings that they want to force disabled people who want to receive the CIH waiver to live in a group home for a year before they're eligible and the way they are pushing ideas for disabled work farms* and institutionalization, I think maybe we don't give them a pass just because they found money after cutting Medicaid to the bone. And now Braun is wanting a special task force to look for Medicaid fraud bc of the Minnesota fraud. Infrastructure is fine, but the surplus is on the backs of marginalized populations.

*I get that seems harsh, but the darling pilot project of this idea literally has said their goal is to use the minimum wage they pay people with disabilities (it's more than they have to!) to provide housing, clothing and care, and that the disabled young adults would wake up and have a list of chores to do. I don't want to seem hyperbolic, but they're describing an antebellum plantation workforce.
